Merci Mon Ami. I will PM you soon and we will discuss this. I am very happy that you and everybody who has listened to these songs has found something of value. My journey in music has been long and to still be appreciated comes as a pleasant surprise.
The lyrics to this collection are mostly meditations on the meaning of existence. One can only face this when you reach a certain age.
My friend and I are at that age. It is a curse and a blessing.

 

Age can precipitate an inward looking focus on the meaning of existence but surely not the only thing that can shift one's gaze from the moment at hand to physical mortal ending. Brushes with death, be it from serious injury, close calls staring death in the face, participating in combat, a fatal disease or from inward journeys using hallucinogenic substances or meditation can help bring to the fore our shared physical end and reflection on taking our last breath. It was Bob Dylan who expressed, "Those not being born are busy dying" though some of us might be a little busier than others, myself included.

 

This album sounds amazing, professionally produced and emotional. Well done.

Don't even have a single song in mind to promote. I do have a video of a song of mine on YouTube.

 

My friend is the lyricist and he's been busy dying for quite a few years. He is immovable, stoic, a martyr and often annoyingly insufferable. But putting his thoughts into words has been good for him in my opinion and it has brought us close again having first met in 1963 and then spent almost every day together until 1985 when we both married and parted ways. Finally the internet reacquainted us.

 

It´s a wonder to hear of someone who´s making songs, no beats or tracks or mixes or whatever the kids call their musical masturbations.

 

Thanks for appreciating the fading art of the composing of songs. I spent many years making "tracks" with nothing else in mind other than "will it make people dance?" and I don't regret doing that. It is a totally different skill set and at the age of 63 it's good to know I can still churn out a banger.

Sorry, can I ask you what reverb, delay, phaser, flanger, do you use in the vocals, in the song cold start? It sounds great!

 

I've duplicated the vocal track and pitch shifted it up 10 cents with 15 milliseconds of delay. The main vocal runs through AA El Rey compressor and PA BX Console SSL 9000J then through two sends to Softube TSAR-1 reverb and a small amount of Waves Reel ADT2V.
