I've downloaded several libraries which downloads include instrument/samples, etc. right away. But some of them are listed as Setup PC/installer pkg.
With the Setup PC download, it seems like I have some kind of connection to native access. Is it? Will NI know about these, as opposed to using the libraries without going into any sort of download system?

 

No. The installer just installs the library!

No idea what you are talking about.
Obviously, you don't have to use Native Access with a k'd Kontakt.
And you should not be online, or if you are you have blocked any outgoing calls from Kontakt anyway.

For the download system, I meant the Setup PC.exe. It had NI logo which kinda made me worry. I've never dealt with this Setup PC/ installer pkg thing. Other libraries were downloaded as just normal files/folders which I would just add the library to k'd kontakt as usual.

As for the last sentence, do you mean I have to disconnect ethernet while installing the library's Setup PC.exe?

 

No need just start the installer and you should be all good.

You don't even need to use the installer! you can just extract.

You cannot use shared libraries with a legit Kontakt.

Or are you implying you have both legit and k'd now?

 

If we are talking Windows, there is a difference between "installing" a library or just copying the (extracted) folder. Even if the installer doesn't phone NI (not sure about that..) it will make entries in the registry and it will show in NativeAccess and that one surely communicates with NI. I would never do that..

 

Oh. Hang on. I reckon Windows newb has read that on Mac we have to add library with cracked 5.6.0 to use them in cracked Kontakt 6!!!

OK, so I did buy Komplete 12 ULT, so yes, I do have legit Kontakt as well.. K'd kontakt for other stuff (6.4.2 I believe). For libraries that download the actual files and the folders, I just simply use manage libraries under K'd kontakt and use them fine. These certainly don't show up on my NI Access.

With some other libraries that come with the Set up PC.exe, I just tried installing them, and I do get the library folders (Data,Instruments,Samples and etc,.) but then they show up on NI Access too. And I was online as well.. So right at this very moment, I deleted these libraries off the registry. Will I be okay?

Maybe I should use a secondary computer to install these and simply move the folders via external harddrive or such?

 

My legit Kontakt is at its latest version. K'd at 6.4.2(portable).
Well, it seems like there are numerous people who are using the legit and the k'd together, as long as the 'unofficial' libraries are being used in the k'd kontakt. It seems like it at least, I'm not sure.

The only problem is those libraries that I happened to download via setup pc.exe, which they automatically registered on NI Access.. am I screwd? I'm now really worried.

As for your last sentence, it's so that I can get the libraries' folders and I could use it on my main computer's k'd kontakt instead of having to go through the install process, and being registered on NI Access

Don't worry.
They'll only ever cash in on us with any info they have on us in the future. But they do know now, yes.
Edit your Hosts file to block outgoing to NI. Ah. But then you can't carry on with your legit downloads from them.
As I said, you have a decision to make...

Naaah... stop hyperventilating, unless you are Katy Perry or something..;) Sorry I can't help you further without going into heavy speculation.. I have everything legit on this machine. Just uninstall the library. If it came /w installer, there should be the option to uninstall it. (use Revo uninstaller or similar and clean the registry, if needed..) and then do some reSEARCH, before proceeding

My advice would be to just get rid of legit and carry on with non-legit Kontakt!
You've already paid for it, so hey! And you paid for the main NI library too.
It's good, but third party libraries are where it's at, imo.

I was just about to. And I genuinly thank you for your answers. I'm just a bit puzzled right now. As you've said, I should have worried this before, and I thought I did a decent reserach, but when these .exe libraries came along, I don't know why I didn't hesitate. I thought I should also attach the .exe files photo, just in case. So, what's gonna be the worst case scenario if I choose not to give up on my legit komplete series/kontakt?

 

No unfortunately, it didn't come with uninstaller, but I did remove it from the control panel + deleted the registry. But as Smooth Grooves said, they know about it now, I guess?

What could be the solution for me to use the library that comes with these installers rather than extracted folders? Like I said, is it best to install them on a different machine, then move the folders to my main computer with external harddrive? (When install, the extracted files/folders do appear)

 

Hard to say. And you wouldn't be giving up the Komplete library because it will work in cracked Kontakt.
If NI ever had to go bankrupt, maybe they would dredge up all the info they have on us and try to make some money. Who knows?

So, looking at all those .pkg files I was wrong; obviously what I said about extracting was when they used to send .iso/disk images. Was easy to extract from them with something like Pacifist which is for Mac. Not sure of Windows equivalent.
So your idea is good and would work.
I'm not in the know, but does Komplete also come with NI fx plugins too? This might be an issue.
Although there are cracked versions of them too.
