    Hello!
I had the issue just in Pro Tools. See my previous post. Quadcore64 said something that worked to me about folders permissions and so. Ruuning a new mix right now without any issue. Doin't know about VST/VST3. Maybe it works too.
    Good luck!

Win10 pro , Intel i7 2.67 ghz,12 GB RAM , Gigabyte ultradurable 3 motherboard, no antivirus, windows defender turned off and even no internet connection, I only use this PC for audio production..Also updated to the latest Virtual C++
Only the softube plugins give me problems

Please note the RAM/memory requirement for Pro Tools on this page:
    https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/Pro-Tools-12-System-Requirements

Not knowing which chipset is on the motherboard & the generation of CPU, you have just enough to get Pro Tools operational. Not necessarily stable. 16GB on a modern system still requires thought & planning for managing sessions (committing/bouncing).

You are better off running a more optimized OS like Reaper 6 on PC or Logic Pro X on Mac.

Also mixed memory modules or, modules in the wrong slots can cause system instability.

If your system is over-clocked, it could be thermal throttling when the CPU & memory are calling for more voltage. A weak or faulty power supply will also cause instability. For that board & CPU you should have a 650W Gold 80+.

Most of the issues that are being complained about seem to be system and/or software configuration. Not all but most.

Many of us are able to use every Softube plugin without issue once those systems are set properly. Windows 10 is getting better but still has the problem of not giving Admin rights to the administrative installer automatically.

Someone with similar hardware may have a solution if you cannot figure it out. Hang in, try another light resource DAW & happy tracking (Trackton, Bitwig, Reaper).
