    Hi,

I've cracked a few libraries in my time but can't quite get my head around this.

I know how to make NICNT files etc. Ever since getting a Hackintosh, cracking libraries has been a bit trickier (as I used to use a tool to help make NCINT files). The only way I can do it now is by using a virtual windows machine.

I add the cracked libraries using the 'Add library' button on my Kontakt 5 standalone before opening them in K6.

Now, I get the hard part correct, the library successfully shows in K6. However, every time I try to load an instrument, it says there are samples missing. Clearly there aren't as I can see them in the finder.

    I've tried:
    - Search Spotlight
    - Browse for folder
    - Allow alternative file types
    - Batch re-save

With the batch re-save, it endlessly looks for the folder. Left it running for a few hours... and nothing.

The only thing that seemed to work was selecting the files individually. But I'm not going to do that 20,000 times.

Am I missing something? Does anyone have any ideas? It happened to an earlier library I managed to get my hands on - but I thought it was corrupt. Turns out it wasn't coincidence after all.

    Can anyone advise?

    Thanks

You haven't. You've got one cracked Kontakt.
Probably because they are just shared, not cracked!
Yes. And now you know what it is!

Yes. Search for them, then batch re-save the lib straight away. It shouldn't hang like you said.
It will stop asking you where they are.
You must make sure you are giving Kontakt the correct folder.
You should not be having to add each sample individually as you said.

Hi, the problem is I've already done those steps (search etc). I'm trying to troubleshoot why it's not finding the samples within the folders I'm selecting, even though the exact files that kontakt is looking for are in that directory.

I know. I can read, and I responded as such. You are just repeating yourself now.
Because of the folder heirarchy. That's why I mentioned the correct folder.
And after it's all loaded, then batch resave.
You haven't mentioned which version of Kontakt 6, but from all this I just know it must be a very recent one, because this has been happening with other members too.

Yep that's what I've done. Selected the correct folder etc. Still says the samples are missing. I've done this many times so I have some idea of what I'm doing. I'm using Kontakt 6.3.2.

SNPID is 7020. I'm quite new to this website so I'm not 100% sure how to upload files. I've created a we-transfer link for the NICNT file below:

    Thanks :)

Huh. So am I. Because the newer ones were a bit kooky.
So you've used a 4 character SNPID #? Just to be 'sure'?
I've only ever used a 3 character SNPID.

Ah. And 'Company' should be Orchestral Tools, not Native Instruments.
And would usually be above the line of the lib name.
I'm just comparing it to a legit Orchestral Tools .nicnt...
Oh. Which also has 4 characters!
On my list, all the official OT SNPIDs have 3 characters.

Well, I'm sorry but I have no idea.
It looks like you have one of the best to help you though; Talula!
And I know you must know what you're doing...because you are brave enough to go the hackintosh route!

If "Orchestral Tools" is an official library, you cant create a custom nicnt file, lol.
You need the official nicnt that, usually, do contain much more than a SNPID and few other standard infos...

Official libraries usually coming with an installer. Avoid repacks from idiot guys that know nothing of Kontakt !

    1. SNPID must contain 3 character
    2. SNPID must be UNUSED
    3. DON'T try edit nicnt from other library. you also need <HU> and <JDX> codes

you edited NI Session Horns library nicnt file and change only SNPID. all other data are still for original library. in the end of nicnt you can find instruments files names (nki) and other data for Session Horns library loading.

if you want to add any non-player library to kontakt as player edition library, use special applications for creating nicnt file with unique SNPID and other codes/data.

Not. Orchestral Tools The Timpani! d009. Works fine! Although I didn't realise this until just now!
I don't care for creating .nicnt files, I just load via Quickload. The Timp must have come with this weird .nicnt
Yes, I see in my official list that both these libs don't have official .nicnt like Berlin Brass etc..

Searching for missing samples shows the lack of understanding the whole structure.
For a long time samples are packed in .nkx files. One .nkx file contains maximum 2GB of samples. You can't just search for a missing wav in your mac and windows integrated search feature.
The main problem for many people who come up with these kind of complains (can't add library) is that they downloaded the library from an unreliable source, mostly from torrent where many times people just put fabricated/incomplete stuff to try to earn seeding balance.
I've said this in the past and know that many AS/AZ members will disagree, this is the weakness of torrents, people can put any shit and others think they got the same valuable stuff that appears on reliable sites, and they're wrong.

Right. So if I read that correctly, the nicnt file can also determine whether or not the library finds the relevant samples? Essentially because this nicnt file is wrong is the reason the samples aren't being located properly?

I've used the ncint file maker for almost all my libraries that didn't come with such a file. All of them worked without a problem thus far. Strange that this library doesn't work if my nicnt file sourced the same way.

The more I think about it the more it hurts to try and solve it haha.

the problem is in the nicnt file that OP used. he just change SNPID and name of the library, but other information wasn't edited. now kontakt trying to find files for other library. that's all.

    - this nicnt maker is not working
    OR
    - you add library with other nicnt file (not from this app)

what is the application you used to generate this nicnt?

It was one I found on youtube a year ago or something. The app itself is called KLC.exe.

I've actually tried using the nicnt file from that app, and making it myself to eliminate the nicnt being at fault. Both posed the same problem.

Windows executable at macOS?... with wine... funny...:(
ok, but why? you can find many nicnt creators for macOS...

    but!
I strongly discourage you from trying to add libraries that are not designed for this.
with that level of knowledge about kontakt and libraries, you will hardly add this library, but then you will have problems with official libraries that will not be added or will not work. and it will be difficult for you to fix these errors. you will most likely have problems when you try to add the session horns library.
