Is it really so easy ?

    Hi all
    if i have a plugin which is only vst3 and doesnt work so well in the DAW
    ......and i want vst2.......the only thing is to rename the file ?

    also, there is no such thing as .vst2 - if your on mac its just .vst and on windows its .dll

    I prefixed all my plugin files with "UAD" so now I have the full UAD bundle. It might work differently with file extensions though, so YMMV.

    To answer the OP: No, VST2 and VST3 have completely different coding architecture. Simple change of the extension will not work.

    No, won't work.

    You can use the VST2 version of a "container plugin", say, DDMF's Metaplugin to load a VST3.
