These are for future bounce or progressive house style. Personally I like the 1st melody because it came out of my mind (well, only the first 2 bars) and the chords of the 2nd. But to change the chords meant I had to change the melody as well, because 1st's melody and 2nd's chords don't sound well together. I think the second melody changes way too dramatically but the first one is kind of repetitive. What do you think?

I like #1. The #2 file has some awkward leap motion toward the end of the 2nd phrase.

Side note.....remember - that "silence" or "rests" (and sustaining held notes (tied)) are sometimes even more important than filling up a bar with staccato quarter and eight notes.

What is not played can be more powerful than what is played.

Yes but the way this melody starts doesn't help it. Even some offbeat notes sound very bad. Btw, how about a big 1 + 2 melody, that way it sounds better altogether.

 

For me first melody feels more satisfied than second one. Second doesn't have that satisfied end. That's why I choose first.

What do you think of this rough dynamic velocity (damned foreign languages ) and length variation?

Hey @No Avenger can you plz upload the Midi?
Legato is good for progressive house but I haven't decided yet whether to make future bounce or progressive out of this. Tighter and swinging notes are better for future bounce. Anyways once I have the midi I will know better. One of my friends said that I should transpose it, and it does sound completely different if it starts from B instead of E. But i don't think I should change it, maybe I can complement it later in the bridge/break. If I keep changing I can't go ahead, that always happens with me. I have like atleast 25 project files lying around with just the melody and chords on Truepianos. If I have spent more time on it probably there's a lead and chord preset as well, some routing on mixer nothing much beyond that. Loop to song is actually difficult. Btw @Roject what do u think about 1 + 2, huge 16 bar melody?
