well i useally do the reverse reverb eq compress then send it to my overall main vocal group Which useally has smpmre eq compressionand slight saturation to it. Thats useally the loudest channelin my mix but i still like to sidechain it off my kick as you can here in that track to give extra punch.

for voices usually reflections are enough, you dont want a reverb tail with that. try echos with logaritmic time positions.

I skimmed it before posting but similar to what I was looking for with the record into Edison and flip etc in there. I've seen one before where edison has a reverb already built into it but can't remember how to do it. So you can just do the whole thing in edison if you wanted.

This works for me, decide how long reverse fade you want, be it 1 bars, 1/2 bar or 2 bars or whatever.

Then loop drums at your tempo (or use a metronome, doesn't matter).

Pick a sharp drum hit, snares work well. Now get a dense reverb with a long tail, no predelay no early reflections. Now adjust the reverb length that it's as long as you want the reverse to be. Easy to adjust when you have your sharp snare on the first beat and repeated every bar (or whatever you chose).

Now pick the sound that you want to have the reverse reverb applied, stick it on a track and feed it to the reverb which is bussed to another track and recorded. Reverse the sound, play & record the reverb. Now just reverse the recorded reverb and align that it stops just before the sound. If the fade comes in too quick or too slow just use volume automation to fix.

Is your reverb 100% wet? Did you ad plenty predelay? (or just move the clip as you like)
Before reversing it: It needs to be a long (>3s) very bright reverb.
You don't need a warm comfy tail, you want something that cuts.
