    Hello all,
I'm wondering if it's possible to send a text to an email address, but as SMS, NOT as MMS. I'm working on a program that can be sent input, but it can be problematic how slow MMS can sometimes be. SMS is so quick, and I'd love to be able to use that, but apps like Textra all seem to automatically use MMS. Is there a way around this? free ringtones download mp3: https://phoneringtones.info/
    Thanks!

    simple answer no

MMS (and email) use the internet (3g/4g/5g phone networks) however SMS is a system designed for 1g/2g phone networks which were never designed to access the internet

Maybe you need a computer service that accepts SMS then forwards it as email...

Depends on your carrier, it's not part of the base standard but many if not most provide a means to do it as legacy extension from the old days when smart phones and direct data to device were not ubiquitous.

    yes, you can.

i've had to do this several times for different reasons over the years. not very often, but i've done it.

GIYF: SMS text from phone to email (a few results reverse the question)

to test, i just sent myself an SMS text message from my phone number to my gmail account. went through without a hitch.

maybe it depends on where you are in the world or who your carrier is. it worked for me, and always has with every carrier i've ever had or tried it with.

about 10-12 years ago my mobile operator provided this as additional paid option.
    sms format was:
    <email@adress> <subject> <message>

sender of this email was something like +mynumber@operatordomain

but I think at this time this option is useless and all operators all the planet discounted it, but you can try to search at your operator official website.

Wrong ! Yes you can with right app download text4free google play store on Android Device

How to Send an Email via Text Message (SMS or MMS)
    1. Open your texting app on your phone.
    2. In the recipient field, enter an email address where you would normally type in a phone number.
    3. Write your message as normal and send it. Your cell phone provider will convert your message into an email.

I do it all the time. My brother and I send msgs back and forth between his phone and my email with no problems. All you need to do is find the provider, and then the syntax, and it's as simple as that. In his case it's as simple as his phone [email protected] You can google the exact name of each provider. I believe his is cricket but this should work with pretty much any mobilephone provider. I've never ever heard about this being dependent 4g, 5g or whatever. I googled what to call the mobil provider and it works flawlessly. Nothing special except finding the exact address to use in the address string.

The last part is what you need to google and find for your provider. @mms.att.net or whatever the provider is called for you. Put the phone number in front of @ and try it. It works! I would bet my arse it works regardless of 4g, or 5g. Email works across the board, so this should too.

I was able to do the opposite about 20 years ago in England, receiving e-mail as SMS on my dumb phone. The operator O2 provided it during a test period for free. Actually I received only the sender's e-mail address and the subject but it was enough as I had informed the senders to write the their brief message into the subject.

using the standard texting utility included with my samsung a50, i typed in my secondary email address instead of a phone number. in the text field i typed in "Testing 123". within a few seconds, in my email application i received an email. the sender of the email was [myphonenumber]@vtext.com the subject line was "Testing 123" and the contents of the email was also "Testing 123".

i hope that answers your question because i did not really understand what you were asking.

please read the op's original post, they asked if an email can be sent directly by SMS, not using an app (or third party software which uses MMS), they also stated they had tried "textra" (an app) ALL these apps use the internet network to transfer the message as part of the delivery system SMS is phone number to phone number only
