    Whats up guys and gals.

Disclaimer: Before I get bombarded by the sheriffs telling me to buy my plugins, I am coming from the side of an aspiring producer who intends to buy all the software I use once I make any decent money doing what I do. Up until that point food and housing is my priority.

So the question is, I'm looking for a definitive answer on big surr compatibility with cracked plugins. Some of the plugins I mainly use are.

    The Autoria V collection Synths
    The fab-filter series
    Waves
    Sugarbytes
    valhalla

If anyone could give me a bit of insight into upgrading and more specifically, these plugins that would be lovely.

    Peace Out

Arturia v8 are compatible with Big Sur in stand alone and with most Daws so check your Daw
FabFilter is OK Waves and Valhalla also (well last versions) but not Sugarbytes
All of these using Rosetta 2

Well, last week I bought a MacBook Pro 2015 with Big Sur, after a week of problems with almost everything during plugins instalation etc I gave up and I downgrade to Mojave OS. Mojave supports 32 bit still and I had absolutely no problems with instalations. I thinks its even a big faster OS than Big Sur
The only problem I still have is that Sylenth1 doesnt appear in the plugin list in Ableton

Probably, but that's because each succesive OS is bigger and uses more RAM, and is geared for the current hardware.
So your hardware might have come with Yosemite or El Capitan.
Sierra and High Sierra were good. I encountered more problems with cracked stuff on people's computers with Mojave +.

That's not quite true. Big Sur and Catalina have given performance problems to quite a lot of people. According to the MacBookPro Discord people who downgraded to Mojave (so everyone except 16" MBP owners and 2019 Mac Pro owners) on the 2019 13" and 15" MBPs reported much better performance than on Catalina. I have a 2015 15" with 16GB of RAM and a 4980HQ and Catalina was a wreck. I immediately downgraded back to Mojave and haven't had a problem since.

It is true. And you just stated that the people who rolled back to Mojave were happier.
This is because of the reason I just gave you, and which you have perfectly echoed.

"and is geared for the current hardware"
So explain why 2019 software ran like crap on 2019 hardware but Mojave runs just fine despite being "geared towards older hardware".
Also good job cropping it just before the part where I specified the 2019 models.
My mid 2015 MBP (16GB of RAM, i7 4980HQ, M370X) originally came with Yosemite and I upgraded every time until Catalina. Not even a month later I downgraded back to Mojave. My MBP has never been snappier on any other OSX version. Both during normal use and when using either Logic or Live.

I've got an M1 machine and have had no problems with FabFilter, Arturia and Valhalla. I haven't tried waves yet but I can't see any reason for it not to work.

Yeah, you can run Logic in either arm mode that uses Rosetta for x86 plug-in capacity or run logic in full Rosetta 2 mode if you have any issues. I haven’t seemed to run into any yet with logic though.

On my Hackintosh Big Sur is a lot faster than my Mojave installation. Maybe it is because it is a fresh install but it feel snappier , anything is faster.

All cracked versions, confirmed? I'm about to pull the trigger for a Mac replacement and might be forced to take an M1/Big Sur (using Ableton).

Would Kontakt k'd versions (5.6.0/5.6.6 in standalone for installing libraries, 6.4 for DAW) not work ever, or work one day, or work already?

i downgraded to Mojave too, and everything is working fine!
What a brainfart to even think about upgrading from me.

what really stuns me every day, is that my 'MBP Mid 2014' with a dual core i5 and 8gb of ram,
can run fully loaded sessions, with plugins all over the place.

next mac will be Mac mini, i hope i can buy this with Intel, we'll see...

Hi guys, I have the same 2015 macbook pro, currently running Catalina. I only upgraded to sync the reminders and use the screentime feature with my iphone. Soooo, I haven't really noticed a big difference in performance? I haven't measured or A/B tested, but seems just fine? I have upgraded my SSD to a 3000Mb/s Sabrent 1Tb though. It gives a lot of speed if that matters.

I noticed at the time when I upgraded from high sierra to Mojave, projects are like 25-30% faster and I can add more plugins to the same projects.
I didn't notice a big improvement from mojave to catalina, so I'm asking what are the issues specifically, and is it just "i feel it's faster"? Or someone actually did some tests? No shade, just curious. If I get more from Mojave, I am considering to. But i really like Screentime in Catalina, it's like an automatic time tracker, and I can block websites and apps too to prevent overusing.

    Cheers

Native Instruments stuff are known to be K'd quite easily on a regular basis. if Fabfilter, Valhalla, Arturia can be done for the M1 versions, very very high chance they will be available once it's updated by NI.
