    Good day guys...
I don't know if I'm on the right thread
    hopefully I'am...
    So here's the sitch...

    It's been a while,
and I got used to using Adobe Auditions 3.0
    As my Vocal Recording DAW...
My question goes something like this...

Is there a vst I could load up to Adobe Auditions
that's a peak meter so that I would be able to control the levels...
I've seen some but it doesn't seem to be the one I need...

What I'am looking for, for a peak meter is something like
    the Ableton channels/master has...
You know, the one that when it peaks the highest, the number would remain there
so you would actually see it...
And you could reset it back to no value if you did something with the vocals...

I've seen some VST's and I don't dig just following the colors and the peak line...
I really prefer having that number there...
And something that has above zero...
Coz' mostly it's like -100db (just an example) then highest would be 0db,
I really like something that has over it,
coz I might also be using that for my music, coz'
I have something that I do above 0db hehe...

I hope I made my point clear, coz' I'm really effin' bad in english...

    Thanks and peace... :)

"TT Dynamic range meter" I think it's free.
Voxengo span, might be a bit overkill (it's a spectrum analyzer too), is free and reliable.

Adobe Audition hasn't got a peak meter? :wow:

    Can't believe that...

It's a must have , maybe the frozen "highest peak" bar don't stick in place, There should something about it in preferences.
Idk I don't use this software.

It has a peak meter, but it's not for every channel...
It has this huge peak meter for all...
I guess it reads the master only...
Anyway, I don't really dig that meter so that's why I'm lookin' for something,
like the native meter of Ableton as I've said on my post earlier...

I really still don't dig the bar type,
I really dig the ones with the actual number on it...
    Yah, checked on preferences already...
    Haven't really seen it...
Even if it has, I'm still looking for somethin' else...
    I don't dig it's native meter. :)

Voxengo span's meter works really cool,
however it really is over kill...
I mean it functions for mastering as well?
I mean, where are the knobs?
    Anyway...
It's awesome as long as the meter goes...
    I don't know it's other functions yet,
but the meter is working great as of now...
    Thanks for the help... :)

RS-MET has a nice peak+RMS meter for free that is small and non-intrusive on the screen so you can have it open all the time. http://www.rs-met.com/freebies.html

Also http://code.mzuther.de/kmeter/ is a really nice big meter with lots of options.

Currently using FL, not feeling that Fruity meter as well...
Voxengo span btw comes in handy, but it really is overkill...
Still I would love to check out that
    Rig Sonics and K-meter.
    Thanks for this.. :)

Yes gonna check that kmeter out.
Your other link by the way, does not open...
    Thanks. :)

In Audition 3, switch to the mixer tab (if you want to view individual instrument VUs) , right click on the meter, and select "Static Peaks" (which will set the option for all meters. This should give you the option that you want.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Izotope Insight and you can customize the behavior of the meter.

    This ^

And also, random question/off topic question.

Why not use another daw like studio one or ableton if your gonna be switching later on. I had say to start learning those and it will be easier to work on those when you switch.

    I love studio one *yes*

I'm gonna check that one out...
    \m/

Didn't knew izotope has stuffs like that as well...
BTW I would love to check out that NuGen as well... :)
    Thanks.

Haven't checked out studio one yet, and I've tried ableton, I kinda treat it as
more of a beat producer DAW and Awesome Live DAW. (I hope no arguments about this one:D)
I'm really looking for a separate Sequencer DAW, more like Pro Tools style, but
for me Pro Tools is so complex, I'm not ready for it yet. :)

A nice one is still missing here:

    Sonalksis FreeG

    http://www.sonalksis.com/freeg.htm

    Freeware.

It also has a fader with much higher resolution than the usual faders in the DAWs, and some other features.
But still very simple and neat, and no overkill.
