Nice to hear that some others also have the feel that its sad so many people just dont care.

Im lucky nothing serious happend (well, nearly got killed at work later, but whatever), the most shocking thing to me was that nobody cared or tried to help, that really surprised me. It's just so naturally to me to help people in those kind of situation, even if it was their own fault, and even if I dont like them.

Oh and BTW, cyclists are pretty unpopular where I live because there are many IDIOTS who RIDE (yeah, got it Lukie ) their fucking bike on roads outside the city/village while there is a bike-road right next to the main road. Thats fucking stupid and ignorant of some cyclists.

and someone I would definately have helped you...I know how you feel cuz I'm usually a socially awkward person and have been in many embarrasing circumstances...so much that now I'm no longer shy about anything that happens to me...I've learnt to deal with the nature of life and turn it around for me and for others by trying to be better than the ignorant, faceless human beings who give no shits about life...whether that's making good music, helping people who are in need, or actually not being ignorant and giving yourself time to think...

Sometimes we go through really tough times. And to those who say that he needs to suck it up and move on...I think he gets enough of that comment in the real world like everyone else. Why is it that all of a sudden this is about him personally? We aren't here to attack others. The main topic was about what is wrong with human beings and the bike event stimulated this anger. As a forum we need to help him and be there for him because that's how a real community works!

Let's not be like those shitty forums that have the lamest, attention seeking, self loathing inside jokes filled with cyberbullies and careless people because there are so many so called 'communities' online that are like that and that is the reason why alot of audio forums and other forums are dead as fuck!

AudioSEX is a forum I was first doubtful about because I though it was just another one of those forums. But to my surprise, you guys have turned out to be the complete opposite and have represented what a true community really is! I honestly thought internet forums were long dead but you guys have reignited my hope! Now do you see the power of one community over all? If one person took the time to help someone, the power of that persons assistance is greater than 1000 men. If a whole community was like that, imagains how far and wide it's influence can be as opposed to the influence of evil!

I once did a hardcore bike tour, and was ureally tired. I sat on the ground to rest on the side of a road and my bike fell. i was too lazy to pick it up again and after a few seconds, a lady stopped her car on the road to see if im ok.

It looked as I fell, I guess.. I was really happy, that in case of an emergency someone would have cared and thanked her for that.

And because people are so in love with plastic stereotypes of what is "good" and "beautiful", everything that falls outside these categories is left to wither and die.

And that's is tragic. Because frequently we fail to see (or to allow ourselves to see) the greatness that lie in the other. We fail to acknowledge that each and every one of us has the potential to produce greatness and to inspire. As the old poem say:

Yep. For the past year I refrained to participate in any online discussions. It was disturbing me HEAVILY. There's a cartoonist in my country that says: "Never read the commentaries", because, well... Anyone who ever read commentaries online, specially about tragedies, knows why.

But sometimes we stumble on legitimate pieces of humanity, and that prompts (as should!) an adequate response. What I mean is: I REALLY relate to the things and questions you raised in this topic.

I would stop for any woman and the elderly at any time, late or not. Men however am sure a few cuts and scapes they can cope with on their own.

 

Not a really the age of empathy, depending bit where you look at things. It's quality not estimating and acting only if things go badly wrong, but to act there when they do. Bit like people are turning more into cold calculating computers only waking for short periods of time when something bad happens to themselves.
