Upgraded Studio One v4 to Studio One v5. My DAW though is Win7, so now planning either a new PC with Win10 or upgrading my Win7 so I can install S1-5

Nothing. I have enough tools to do what I do.
Although I did buy Vital recently!
I was planning on treating myself to OTS The E Electric Piano and to share it at the weekend, but certain people seem to be able to dissuade me easily. And I don't need it!
On BF I actually got a nice price on a half of a mix of Lemon and Strawberry Kush.

Even upgrade discount pricing has gotten too much for big software packages like komplete, live, some ik multimedia stuff afaic. Really hate this shit of what was basically standard and ultimate packages for software has exploded into twenty variations now.
What new choices compare to what I already have.... damned if I know, heh.

(sure, taking time reading up about a product can sort it out or asking support, but fukk me, having to just 'find shit out' about a product, multiplied by every fukkin' goddamn product, service and thing in my life I have to 'find out about' on virtually a daily basis, has gotten waaaaaaaaaay too fukkin' much)

Black Friday sales have become so inflationary to the poin't where it's not even fun to scavange something. And then all these email every few hours to remind you "hey, we have a sale", "DO YOU REMEMBER: W E H A V E A S A L E"?. Some of these companies need to calm de fuque down.

First of all: the shit starts 1 to 2 weeks prior to actual black friday
Second of all: it carries over directly to the next sale following monday and/or so-called holiday sales
Third of all: since the pandemic there have been sales throughout the whole year on a weekly basis already.

I bought green lentils, sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, 2xsoy milk, and 100g of Irish breakfast tea.

Although I have to mention there were, and always are, some extremely tempting deals at PluginBoutique.

Tough times bros... no recording concerts or anything [aside from making a fart sample library at my toilet maybe?], lockdown, barely surviving. My whole income relies on computer maintenance currently, and that's not much, especially since people are hesitant to house-call due to Corona, but what has to be done has to be done. My whole family is well, nobody has Coroni-macaroni. That's the most important thing. Aside from having something to eat and drink!

Nothing, there wasn't anything at all I needed to buy because the stores weren't lowering the prices like pre-scamdemic black friday years. besides I have infinitely more important things to worry about like buying food and helping out my family, not a time for free spending, the worst is still to come. Time to tighten your belt and see what happens in the new year. Don't forget others who are also having an even harder time , this is a time for generosity, but don't donate any financial aid to foundations none of them help anyone but themselves, the money never reaches those in need, they are just outright thieves. Buy an additional cart of non perishable foods and donate the food to foodbanks and shelters or even directly to a few homeless in persons, the smile that you will put on their faces is priceless and you may even make a few friends

A used Softube SSL9000K. Due to the lower prices the prices for used gear are also lower.

Someone please talk me into or out of MassiveX.

I own a Komplete Ultimate bundle, but it's old enough that it doesn't have MassiveX. I can't afford the big upgrade price to Komplete Ultimate 13. I don't intend to ride the rough seas to grab MassiveX (if you catch my drift) since I don't want to jeopardize my Komplete license, but I might buy it individually. It is on a good BF sale right now and I'm tempted. Do folks that have used it highly recommend it? I am a bit of a synth whore / hoarder.

I gotta be honest. I own it, used it and promptly uninstalled it. Not inspiring in the least bit.

And here's the thing, if you look at it from a spec sheet perspective, it ticks off a lot of boxes. I honestly thought people were being a bit critical when it first came out but man... it's when you start using it that you realize how uninviting it is. I don't know how NI managed to do it, but it is by far one of if not my least favorite NI synth.

Not particularly related to BF, but for the first time ever, I bought decent studio monitors. Yamaha HS7.

Alright! Saving me some money, so far.. so I like your review. LOL I actually grabbed the demo yesterday, but I haven't tried it much yet, as I went on a Serum + Vital spree at the same time and have spent more time with each of those. Maybe that's the direction I should go, rather than dropping $100USD on another VSTi that might get lost in the shuffle.

Anyone else have an opinion on Massive X?
