Last night I went to bed late, as always.
I couldn´t sleep. Lately I´ve been more present in this site, listening, sharing, learning a lot.
And the place is plenty of great artists, from new to very experienced ones.
Then, almost sleeping, this idea came up. I took a pen from my near desk in the dark and wrote a few lines in my hand so I will remember it today.

This is the idea:
What if we release a free Audio Sex Compilation Album?
I mean, there´s a lot of people (non musicians) that signs every day on Soundcloud just to find new music and follow artists they like.
We could post the album in a simply but nice looking web page for free download, and replicate it on Soundcloud or where you suggest.
I think somebody looking for new music on the network could be happy by finding something like this for free.
Also it could be a nice 'artists catalog' for labels out there. We don´t know, maybe somebody here gets signed or could find a job.
Anyway, just if somebody download and listen the stuff it would be nice *yes*
I don´t know if this happened before on this site.
Maybe we could agree in how to unify files, formats, name tracks, add some descriptions in a .txt, contact info and include some sort of album art in the package. Make it right.
I think that with just one song per artist (that one you like the most) we could make a lovely album.

That's a brilliant idea and I think that frito should get in on this. The fact this guy isn't making tons of money right now is killing me inside.

It could be endless album, 700+ tracks, 40+ hours runtime
Voting smells like competition, which is best to avoid in music

 

set time where user can post their tracks

post all tracks in ONE post (so post tracks better by pm to the organizer)

give the ability to vote the best maybe 8 tracks or soooooo

put theese tracks on the audio sexed tape ;)

i dont know if the vote part is a good idea - maybe there could be other reasons why vote a track / artis too

Well, if u know of a better way to decide the tracks, by all means.. bring it.

Any which way, its a contest unless, only the people who participate are included.

Life is competitive, I don't see it as a bad thing.. it encourages effort.

One idea.. place the tracks on soundcloud, decide by number of plays?

Personally I prefer voting, one per IP... weeds out the cheaters.

Awesome idea. And someone who is good at designing should make a brilliant album cover. All these fresh ideas from great members will also be a great way to prepare for the new AudioZ that SAiNT is working on as well as great improvements to an already great forum

Whoever contributes a solid track should be in the album I think a great way to decide though is if everyone who completes a track posts it on 'our music' thread for review and improvements so we can perfect each track that's going on. Then we'll set in a deadline and whoever can finish off and solidify their track by the given deadline, we'll put them up.

Doesn't matter if it's 70 tracks or only 8. We just have to make sure that the album is a fantastic one that represents the skill of AudioSEX members. And if that means we have 70 tracks, it should mean we have 70 members who kick major ass in production. And I'm sure we have talent here

Personally I don't like competition in all areas of life. It's like you constantly need to prove you're worthy and you're the best. Ego grows, people become more separated.
Now I'll be one week without internet, so I will tell you afterwards.

Im into this. Whoever is taking charge, please list a few regulations or vague genre? Ive a pretty wide spectrum of stuff from 'haunting atmos ballad' to 'rip your arse out' nasty stuff!

OH OH OH OH OH! Pick me pick me for compiling all the tracks that are made and putting it all together. I'm very organised and excellent at writing album descriptions. And let it be any Genre, Let it be FREEEEEE! But of course with a few guidlines which we should set up once we get a few starter tracks ready

 

so lets start that mixtape topic - collect tracks over a month or so (set rules like max. 3 tracks pro artist)

I think we should do one track per artist. Whoever is able to complete a track by a set deadline, gets into the album. And it doesn't have to have top class production, just make sure we represent something artistic and quality tracks, keeping mind that all tracks should be rendered out as 24bit files. Audio Quality should be a must.

I don't think we should have a voting system. We should have a review system. I mean before we can even get into voting, let's see if people can actually put out tracks first. When someone completes a track, they should post it for feedback and improvement. And once it's a satisfying track, it goes on the album.

Voting will alienate alot of people who believe they made a great track. It can still be a competiton without voting, but we don't want this to be something that includes "POLITICS" in. We wan't this to be natural, artistic and fun. Everyone should have a great time doing this
