Well, a buttload of accomplished DJ's have proven the success of Serum, I don't think Vital will take the crown by this poll. I'll accept an answer only if it comes from Skrillex.

 

It only means he is skilled ... not that serum is skilled. He probably could do the exact same thing in Vital or any other WT synth for that matter. A hammer is a hammer but you'd be surprised at what a trained carpenter can do with it.

One thing that is common in all synthesizers is the sound source. Most of these sources are similar and there is no criterion for being better in this section.

Only 2 parts determine the differences between synthesizers. Filter and effects section and section of interfering settings.

In my opinion, the filters and effects section is not very important, because thousands of filters and effects can be added externally later.

The intervention section, which is actually the control section of the synthesizers, is their most important part. The more adjustment options and the more accurate they are, the more powerful the synthesizers are. What seems to be happening is that both of these synthesizers are powerful in terms of settings, and it is difficult to choose one of them as the top option. Although this can also be applied externally.

 

Instead of worrying about the sound you should worry about what you gonna do with your projects when the vital guy goes out of business and you can no longer log in to your account when the servers are offline…

I've never tried Serum... so Iguess I'll say Vital

 

This applies to all plugins that regularly call home to check the license. A simple goodbye patch update before leaving the business solves this problem.

Apart from that it is generally not a bad habit to bounce projects.

 

in many cases this wouldnt be happen ,eg server goes down and dev has nothing to do with it etc
imho this is a 50/50 thing if dev will put out such a patch if he goes out of business

If we only want one language, not every known language, I'd hope that we can mod it to read a phonetic bank locally.
Or maybe the dev can build in this possibilty? How big is the English language thing on Google?
I've been too busy playing with this synth, and I still haven't yet tried the speech thing. I'm guessing we are then able to commit that preset with the WT with the speech to our plugin? Because if not...

Tbh the hype and the team that developed the synth aren't going anywhere. The numbers of users are expanding every single day. This synth will give Serum a run for the money. Just mark my words when you see more vital presets being made and serum slowing down.

 

Unfinished projects have the bad habit of remaining unfinished. So... Finish projects.

WHO CARES ?

I hate Zebra sound engine. Thin and lifeless.
But most ppl love it

The FIRST thing i do with a synth is trying an arp filtered bassline.
Because it will trigger the filter each time AND squeeze frequencies.

If it sounds good, it is a good engine.
If there is a lack of punch :trash can

I trashed Cyclop synth in less than 1 minute with this test.
A bass synth without bass punch ...

About Vital and Serum, they are as different than Massive is.

And that's the general issue with this thread… it's favoring towards something that's very affordable and against that has not been cracked and so only 5% can actually tell what it does. Just another thread that feeds into the hype

Where's the data to support your claim? You are also on the hype train. BTW, this is not a team, devloping the synth, it's a single guy.

 

And what if you go online after the servers have been are shutdown?

 

That's really apples and oranges. In programming it's a far more regular thing that newer is superior because technology progressed and new software is not carrying around the old code that makes older software harder to update, heavy on CPU and so forth.
