Possibly an Ensoniq ASR-10. From what I understand they recorded whole chunks of the track into it & used it to build the arrangement.

Probably the filters in the ASR-10.

If it's the section at 2:25 you are referring to it's probably just the instrumental parts filtered as one thing. The vocals will be on a separate track.

I don't think it's anything more complicated than that, even if it's not done in the ASR-10.

I was pretty sure it's the filter on the EXS24, or in Autofilter.

Just got the info from what's available online about how the track was put together. Bounces of sections of the track were apparently loaded into the ASR-10 & triggered live to build the arrangement. Would be easy to just switch between filtered & unfiltered versions of different sections that way.

Regardless of how it was done it's not really a complicated thing to replicate in any daw, plugin or piece of hardware with a half decent filter.

Only Bangalter will know for sure what the actual process was.

I heard throught the grapevine that they used the Electrix filter factory. And an Alesis 3630 compressor for a lot of their music.

You can get similar results with some of the d16 plugs like Decimort. I bet u can even get a close sound using RC-20

its all about the bitcrushing before filtering or that combo. Good luck
