    Hi,

Any help on this problem would be much appreciated.

I run Cubase 8 Pro on Windows 7

I've got Trilian (through download - by AiR).

I've followed all the install instructions very carefully. It works - opened in Cubase... but only some instruments/patches play.

Most of them I get an error message, such as
"Cannot load soundsource xxxxxx from directory xxxxx. file maybe missing or corrupted. try refreshing soundsource browser"

    and they dont load.

ive tried researching on the net... it looks likely its a problem with the STEAM libraries - but Im stuck I cant work it out... I followed the install instructions and did all the updates..

    Can anyone help?

Yes a problem with STEAM libraries. Go to your library folder >> Trillian. Check if you have: Defaults, Documentation, Settings Library & Soundsources. Go to C:\ProgramData/Spectrasonics. Create a shortcut to STEAM where your Trillian folder is placed.

I know this thread is from ages ago, but I think I'm having the same problem as you. Did you ever find a solution?

Did anyone ever manage to sort the "Cannot load SoundSource "xxxxxx' - in Directory "Trilian Library" problem on a MAC? It's driving me mad on Trilian Creative patches latest update. I feel like I've tried most things. Any help gratefully received!!

    In Mac it's Users/YourName/Library/ApplicationSupport/Spectrasonics/STEAM

That's only if your keeping that huge Library on your boot drive. If it's external or you want to move it then make a short cut.
Hold the command and option keys down and grab the STEAM folder (external drive) with your mouse.
A curved arrow will show up and drag that to the above location. This will show Omnisphere/Trilian and Keyscape where your STEAM folder is located.

    Hi Jim Bob,

Thanks for replying. I already have my Steam folder set up as you mention with a shorcut.

My Trilian drive is 35.65G - is yours the same? If it is, then for some reason it's not accessing certian sound sources contained within. I'm sure it's connected with having a certain default file in a certain location.

It's frustrating. It’s a problem I had before I updated to the latest version when accessing patches in Trilian VIP.

Do you know what date your initial.mlt_trl and default.mlt_trl were created? Mine were crated in 2009.

If you have any ideas I'd really apprecite it. I would just install the whole thing again but can't seem to get the origianl .iso files recognised as insatll disks.

    Cheers J

My Trilian is 35.67GB. It's setup as defaults, documentation, settings lib and soundsources.
There is no date in the default.mlt_trl. Try deleting the steam folder short cut and boot trilian and show it where the steam folder is again.
    I'm all out of idea's.

This actually worked. I moved the STEAM folder to a new SSD and pointed the the application towards it and everything worked.
BATCHMOD’ing everything also help resolve the missing sound source problem which many have mentioned on here.
