Does anyone else have this problem? As soon as you put the Filterfreak on the track, you can definitely feel that a lot more energy is coming through the left channel. And the funny thing is that the meters in my daw dont show that. So I checked with bx meter, but it shows that everything is normal. I had to bounce this clip to show you guys what I mean. You can definitely hear that left side is louder. But it shows as mono (despite the delay on the bass).

Can anyone tell me what is going on?
PS I couldnt figure out how to post sound cloud widget thingy straight here. Sorry about that

You're welcome^^^. You use the media button and remove the s in https. I also had to add /bass to your address because your link was a level above in the hierarchy if you know what I mean.

It seems to me there is some phasiness in the bass. Usually, you want your bass to be quite mono.

Blue Cat's StereoScope Pro does show that the left is louder (just) http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Bundle_StereoScopePack/

There's also Flux Stereo Tool (Free) if you know how to interpret phase vectorscopes http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/stereotool

EDIT: In audition, I can see that right channel waveform amplitude is louder than the left (at times). No, this is not a typo.

the bass has some delay on it which by the way is mono. but that really doesnt have anything to do with my problem. this happens with anything, not just bass, when I use filterfreak, mono, stereo, bass, drums, birds singing...

To me it sounds like a small glitch in DAW or plugin. Like everyone said, fix it with more plugins or just don't use FilterFreak.
Try it with a different filter plugin and see if you get same results, then I would say it is your recording is no good, or DAW has small glitch.

Plenty of other filters out there.

Good idea. Ok, the two, with and without
    http://soundcloud.com/questo_angel/bass
    http://soundcloud.com/questo_angel/bass-without

I ll give another example just to avoid confusion
Here is just an OH without http://soundcloud.com/questo_angel/hat-without
And then with FF on it. But mind you, the filter I left fully open, but the problem is still there:

It should be obvious now. So anyone can help me figure out this madness

If it only does it with ff then thats your problem, it could be any number of reasons but i would start with asking the developer 1st also above you said "the bass has some delay on it which by the way is mono. but that really doesn't have anything to do with my problem" just to clarify something any delay introduces small amounts of phase shift regardless if its mono or stereo, try doing a test with ff only and if problem still there speak with the developer it could be the way the pins report to your host etc he will (providing you pass on relevant information) be able to help you.

    Cheers

Yes sure. But obviously that is not a problem. I demonstrated with the second example, which is a simple, dry 909 hat sample.
And yes it is my problem, but I put it out on the forum anyways :dunno:

If you're using FilterFreak on an Aux Send / Return configuration, you may want to leave the mix at 100 % and use the fader on the return to control the amount of the effected sound.

Please note that in this configuration you may get some phase cancellation due to the slight processing delay introduced by FilterFreak.

Tip: Because of the above it might be preferable to use FilterFreak as a channel insert and use the Mix knob to determine the mix between the dry and filtered sound.

Manuals are good at explaining things even tho we all try to avoid them

I posted this question on another forum and somebody asked if the copy is genuine. I took the Fifth on that, but I installed the latest version and so far it sounds good. Thank you guys anyhow.

I own both FF1 and FF2. I don't have this issue. But your track is swayed really badly to the left...
I would check your other plugins on the track...

    But to be fairly honest...
If it happens to every track on every project...
then I would re-install the plugin.
