I was looking for an easy way for conversion between WAV files and KONTAKT's custom NCW files, apart from using the "Collect samples/Batch compress" option in KONTAKT, and stumbled upon this tool named conNCW. The tool handles both conversions from WAV to NCW as well as from NCW to WAV.

I can't comment on the speed of conversion, but it does work fine. I tested it on a library and it worked fine after conversion. The tool is easy to use as well.

Wow!! This is huge. I spend a lot of time tweaking Kontakt libs.

I do wonder if it's even legal. I mean, even using inNKX for creating/extracting nkx containers it's borderline illegal. And this is none less than NI's proprietary ncw compression.
Well, it's been there since quite a few months now, let's see what happens.

 

Agreed! This is so much easier to manage than using the inbuilt option.

About the legality, I guess only NI can answer that. But it has been on KVR Audio for a few months, and from what I know they are very strict about warez stuff. The fact that it's still up is kind of surprising.

 

Hello, @rollerball. I'm following the tutorial that you made for making lite version of Kontakt Libraries. I'm in 'Step 4' already but it always does this whenever I try to convert it. Would u help me? Thank you very much for the tutorial btw
