Did you remove it, or make it private?

I can´t advise you technically but, I´d use the volume fader and put some reverb on that hi-hat until hear it blends better with the other elements. After all is just a matter of taste.

This is True and actually I listened back to what you said and the Hats in the mid section of the track was truly overkill so I removed it entirely

    Thanks mate

It's part of a 10 track album I'm making fingers crossed the others will sound as good this one took me about 6 weeks of frustration and constant changes

    really nice track, nice feel/atmosphere.
there are always improvements to be made specially at this level where you actually do have a nice theme, the better you get the more picky feedback you will get since you enter the doorstep into the pro/commercial releases.

anyway, i liked the hh were toned down a bit, the mix is not top notch but not terrible now. i loved that you had a second theme, it provided nice supplement/variation.

what i didnt find appealing is, that covid audio, its way to "vulgar or indelicate in context with the fine smooth feel of the track.
arrangement-wilse then, that "howl" in the "second theme" is annoying and really out of place too.
i think those are elements that only disturb a working smooth vibe

i would sit in my couch and listen in my livingroom stereo and dump all elements that disturb the nice groove.

anyhow nice job and thanks for sharing your work!

This is Simply fantastic feedback and I actually have a version without the audio and the howl which in truth was a last minute addition which wouldn't be missed when removed. I was feeling a bit 50/50 on keeping the vocal

    It's nice.

It's still a bit peaky above somewhere between 9K - 11K. Sounds like you made a pretty serious cut at or near 6K, but your hats live a little lower than that. Might have been better to just compress the hats more, a touch of DS and some light balancing to be able to turn them down while keeping them present, I enjoy a bit of HH though so it doesn't bother me on loudspeakers. If I was wearing headphones though could get old pretty quick.

Overall it's enjoyable though the repetitive nature of it does grind on you but that's part of the genera. I don't mind messages in songs, but maybe a bit more creativity to build and release drama/tension in second vocal overlay. Think dub-delays, stops, stutters and temp synced slurs.

It's nice to have a bit of message in a song especially if it reflects your world and it's not insulting anyone. Good on you for being brave. Though you need to get in there, it's not going to be relevant forever.

BTW youtube turned you down a full 4dB, might consider doing a less limited mix for that medium .

Nice atmospheric track... Reminiscent of late 90s/ early 2000s chill tracks... Well done! :like:
