What kind of negotiation can you do with a music video creator for an instrumental?

    so lets say i have an instrumental track
    What kind of negotiation can I do with a music video creator for an instrumental?
    so that i don't pay for the music video

    so thats its more like a 50 50 split

    music videos were always part of advertising budgets to promote record sales and to this day for the most part fall under "promotion" this is so record label could write most of the video off as advert expenses.

    my advice is to searh for a content creator that would be willing to work together in a colab to create a video. most video creators are looking for sound tracks for there videos so i think it would not be so difficult to find someone to work with.

    You tube gives you the tools you need to create your own. It doesn't have to be great. Just something for people to look at for those who don't listen to music without video. I made my own. It's not very good, but I still got a few hundred plays. I just put a bunch of photos and GIF's together and edited to the changes in the song.

    Not so with most deals I've seen.
    10 year with Warners = pay for your own vids, if u want, out of the money we gave u to sign.
    And still all recoupable by them.
    But maybe, as u say, Warners do write it off. But the artist can't!

    in the beginning they were called "promotional" videos and inclusive in most contracts sometimes the bands had a say sometimes they didnt all cost were writen off as "advertising" when. they became tiny movies the budgets went up and for bigger artist the label paid, i got. out of that end of the business round 91 . most bands i work with. now its all DIY. Labels arnt in business to promote music there in it to sell it and make as much as possible. nut. yeah bands cant write off unless they become a business. and some have
