Hello one and all.
I was excited about the new articulation control in studio one 5 as this is something that would be really handy for me. I'm using third party vsti's mostly Kontakt as my instruments and so have to create my own maps. So far so easy. My problem is that if i make a cock up and save the map as a preset, it seems (to me ) to be impossible to delete it. At the moment i have at least a dozen presets with nothing in them but I cannot delete them They are deleted from the preset folder in 'my documents' but still appear in the editor where of course now I have deleted them are impossible to edit. I've looked in all the usual places for copies of these files. The registry is the next place to go unless I am missing something very basic which is why I posted this. Does anybody have any ideas?

I uninstalled....deleted every registry entry and reinstalled. It's back to how it was. It seems you can't delete key switch presets, only modify and rename them.

 

I'll take a look when I can. This interests me too.

 

Hover over it in the list as if you were selecting the one you wanted and press Delete. You'll get the 'are you sure' prompt and once you confirm, it will be deleted.

 

Thanks for that. You are spot on That works. The silly thing I had done was to delete the actual keyswitch file. After you do that the entry remains in the keyswitch editor and will not delete from there.I had to remove every registry entry and presonus file and reinstall to get rid of those preset vestiges.....not sure where they were hiding. It would be nice if someone with a legit copy posted the presets from the exchange. i might make a request. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

 

After deleting it you must rebuild the index. From Presonus forum

 

Brilliant Xupi.....I did try to get on forums but there seemed precious little about it. just lack of skill on my part. Thank you. This how you get other peoples presets to show up in the key switch editor too.

 

Any ideas on building a file structure in the preset folder? Scrolling through every articulation for every library is a real chore. I tried putting a folder in the presets folder which was not seen by the editor. Gave it the extension .keyswitch, but still not seen.

 

It was right to put a new folder in the presets folder, I just forgot to reindex it to make it show in the key switch editor. Now each library has its own key switch folder.

 

Glad it worked. I just had luck with Google.
Also, I'm eager to try this keyswitch manager. With virtual guitars concretely.
