I would really want to understand why this happens .

System : MAC OS Mojave 10.14.6
LPX : 10.5.1
NI Absynth & FM8 : Legit
macbook SIP : Turned OFF

Although i have these working , and i always a keep a back up of healthy Au cache files. but some new plugin install had me checking and reset the AUcache this time only these two Plugins out of more than 1000 plugins , fail the validation and crash the au validation tool.

on NI and other forums there's a mix hit & try kind of workarounds (i tried them all) and it would solve for some and not solve for many. (But didn't work for me this time) i could only make it work with my previously backed up "com.apple.audiounits.cache".

I'll be thankful if some of you can have this topic solved once and for all so that
one method is solidly set, and helps the users.

What's the response from NI? Did they comment on the issues?
Also, which is the last known MacOS version that runs them fine?

 

try these in in Terminal:

sudo xattr -c [plugin path]

sudo codesign -fs - [plugin path]

I wrote to them , waiting for their response , but i won't be surprised if i am sent a link to one of their forum post , the plugins work fine as standalone , on every release of mac os i have mojave and they work and the previous one also it was fine it's the Logic pro validation that fails.
and this issue is some 2 year old issue.
i really hope instead of phasing out their old software they could fix a long running issue and make them easily usable.

I guess you missed the first post where he mentioned he OWNS his plugins?

Weird if they are legit.. Dont own FM8 but I do own Absynth 5 and its been validated and working here all the way to Big Sur.
You shouldn't have to code sign or do anything with the quarantine flag cause all of NIs stuff is signed/notarized and running fine. What was the plugin you installed that made you reset the AU cache? Thats rather odd, and Im thinking whatever you installed just fucked something up elsewhere.

 

sorry i couldn't read macserialjunkie as i haven't registered , i own KOMPLETE12ULTIMATE (Godbless Blackfriday sales).
these two plugins Absynth and FM8 needed a workaround when i shifted to mojave. They work fine standalone but only Logic validation fails, which i fixed i can't remember the workaround.

the reason i got into this problem again was , installing an app called "Diskkeeper" totally new to that UI .mentioned it clears user logs \ cache and cleans the system, gets rid of the junk etc
I highly advice against using Diskkeeper as it deleted com.apple.audiounits.cache which is totally wrong.
Only after launching LPX i saw it was scanning all the plugins . (Luckily i had the backup saved) but i really wanted to come up with a solution .
This is an old issue with some and NI gives a workaround (simply they can update the problematic plugins and save that customer care time)

Anyways long story short i found the easiest workaround ,

easy and straight forward. uses an app : OSX Validate All AUs (it's a different auvaltool)

NI Solution

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Native Instruments.
With Native Access closed, please navigate to the following folder and delete the folder:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center
Then reopen Native Access, to let it rebuild the .xml files.
Finally try opening Logic Pro X, is validation still crashing?
Please let me know if that solves the problem for you.

now after this
- In plugin manager they still come unchecked, but upon reset and rescan Absynth and FM8 get successfully validated
- Just to be safe i took backup of the previous Service Center folder , in the new Service Center folder only NativeAccess.xml will be available .
- Now you need to validate 3rd party kontakt libs and other 3rd party stuff which is used with NI software . because they don't show up .
- Now from the backup that you took of all your third party .xml files can be pasted in Service center to save time.
After this Everything is working fine.
