    IMHO, that's the main purpose.

This is for sure worth a closer look.

The differences would be sound and options, but the pros and cons?

To contribute to the confusion I'd like to add Voxengo TransGainer (https://www.voxengo.com/product/transgainer/) and free Sleepy-Time Records Transient (https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2014/09/20/sleepy-time-dsp/).

AFAIK all the other transient designers are pure algorithmic and not modelled after a specific hardware or sampled from one.

If compressors sound differently, why shouldn't transient designers? They have for instance different attack times, hold times and slopes.

That leads me to the question, how do you define a transient shaper?
On principle they're mainly used to expand the attack and lower the sustain.
IMHO a compander is a downward compressor with a downward expander, while transient designers are mainly used as an upward expander and a downward compressor (or maybe just leveler, I don't know this) so, expressor would be a more fitting name, no?

Regarding the clean aspect, I've been sent several mixes made with SD3 and they had bleed all over the place, as horrible as a live recording.
So, if you have clean sources, cleaning is ofc obsolete.

Regarding the treatment, well, EQs, compressors, saturation (distortion) and reverb. Basically, that's it, as you know. :winker:

Diamond Transient is an expander with multiband capabilities, plus transient dynamics processor. SMT is a transient EQ modeled after the Gyrator and Model D EQ's. So you can set a frequency range and adjust the transient more as eq then dynamics.

So for ‘ultra-giga’-control of transients (lol) you could use these in tandem? As they both supposedly work miracles on transients and both work in another ‘domain’?

@No Avenger said it right, but the key ith Acustica Audio plugins is that all are hardware effects sampled with their cool technology.

I'm no expert here but I'm guessing there aren't much hardware transient effects, so for variety of features a "traditional" plugin could be better. For hardware-based sound quality AA must come up with this couple of effects together.
I'm pretty sure I'm not 100% right but more or less that should be the gist of it.

I find Luca Pretolesi to be very interesting guy,
his Diamond Acustica plugins seem almost all to be about transients in some way.

Take for instance the third band on his Diamond-EQ plugin, it really sounds Jummy when boosting!
especially if you'd listen to what happens to the transients in that area, it is has/adds a certain sparkle to it.

For total control of your transients, I recommend Spiff from Oeksound.
I haven't found any better so far

I'd like to see a software model of the 3BX-DS which is a subharmonic synth. It was really popular, designed for home use, studios would modify it with balanced ins/outs. It was used on a lot of 80's pop music (Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer for example).

For me the DYN-F plugin gets nasty CPU spikes on Pro Tools/Mac. No matter the session size if I just put it on a track not even pressing play it just spikes. I just put in a support ticket on their site to see if it's a known problem or if it's a me problem . I haven't tried it in another daw as I only installed the aax.

The main plugin runs without issue and I can run multiples of it across a session. However, put one DYN-F on a track and forget about it. lol

The legend has it that AMD paved the way for its new ultra-threadripper CPUs with shady deals with Acustica Audio and Maat plugins...
    And Newfangled Elevate
