My biggest problem is having to reach over the Korg M1 master keyboard (on a stand I can pull out) to get at the PC keyboard and mousepad (on a table the M1 slides under). Anyone have any "eureka" suggestions?

WARNING! WARNING! DANGER APPROACHING WILL ROBINSON!
Watch out for damaging impact of blue light on your eyes in your studio or at your computer work station.

Just one of many recent articles about blue light eye damage and consequences.

It also futzes with our circadian rhythm causing sleep disruption etc.

Google for yourself: blue light eye damage

There are non-prescription as well as prescription glasses available that are coated with a pale brown tint that filters out blue light. I've ordered a pair from Ali Express for about $10 US.

My personal experience is something like this:

I've stared at 4 white PC monitors (these emit high amounts of blue light) for many years, along with many bright blue LEDs in the studio. Here's what I notice...
    • Dry eyes when I shut down at night
    • Unusual blurred vision that clears after a sound sleep
    • Disrupted sleep patterns - waking at odd hours.
    • Remember we're upright walking primate monkeys, not long out of our tree nests, now sitting in our studios!

    @eldarktufa Re. blue meanies, yep.
I've been using this for a few years now, especially since I became rundown and got shingles, and it was also in my eye for 2 months and scarred my eye. So I really needed this. The second I switched it on...like a huge relief, instantly.
Good bit of software; some can maybe be done manually, but it's convenient.

Thanks mate. Good to know and try.
Shingles in your eye! That would have driven you crazy...huge sympathy!

Update: Just plugged in Iris and as you said - instant relief. Well worthwhile.
Not funny I know but now my screens look almost like the sky in California, only lighter.

That's an impressive collection of almost everything Lenny. Do you plan to be buried with/by your studio stuff? :)

@aymat Very nice. How does that Polyend Tracker integrate with Maschine?

Haven't done any integration yet. Ive mostly been programming everything directly in the Tracker and occasionally using the Keystep to trigger/record step sequences into it. No plans to use it as a step sequencer, at least not until I can get quicker with it. Not that its difficult (in fact, its quite simple to use). But working within its limitations requires a little more thought for me.

It's a lot fun though. I bought it hoping it would inspire me a little and get me out of my comfort zone which it does.

Some nice setups here and some very nice pieces of hardware

This is just a hobby, I know the monitor placement is far from ideal and there is no treatment in the room but it's just somewhere I can go and be creative. It's also my office due to Covid, I spend 12 hours a day here (only 1 guitar is a permanent fixture for when I need to think).
