Me too .. and it is quite CPU hog actually .. i tried to put 8 Instance (this is the way i tested VSTi) .. and it kills my Mac ... lol, or maybe my mac is too old for this

 

Sounds like 1 FM oscillator [Sinewave ;)] through a waveshaper and a filter, with 1 LFO and 1 Envelope. Modulation possibilities are pretty good. However, it's not at all very innovative as they want you to think - just good old classic basic subtractive synthesis "plus", and I already miss 2nd oscillator, 2nd envelope, and 2nd LFO without even trying it. Well, maybe they plan on releasing a payed for version later with these features, and this is a kind of a beta test + getting attention + making the e-mail list bigger. It's a kind of standard to do that these days... they will also probably offer subscription for $9.95/month. That's also becoming classic business model these days. A little money here and there goes a long way - to emptying your pocket "nicely", because basic maths is not a great trait for many people these days.

Yes, not too exciting, nor impressive. Just more of yet another marketing trick of how to make more money. Eventide marketing team at work. Smart chaps.

edit: big plus is that no iLok account is needed. Unlike "some" plugin companies that offer free plugins only if you accept to install that iLok garbage on your computer. Good move.

I was kind of excited until I played with it. It's Monophonic WTF! I expect Mono synths to be Mono synths because of hardware prices and limitations. Software shouldn't be Monophonic, and should at least have the option to switch between Mono and Poly. No wonder it's free. Thanks for the heads up though
