Ive been a Maschine user for years so this has been a long time coming. I LOVE the Maschine workflow even with its limitations but I'm excited that they have been addressing a lot of those limitations with software updates regularly and seem to be committed in continuing to do so.

This, however, changes everything. Having the option to be able to work both in the box and out adds so much more flexibility. And the fact that it already comes bundled with the Maschine library, expansions and NI synths is phenomenal.

The only thing Im not feeling is the price. Goddamn. I have the MK3 and the build quality on it is not exactly stellar. The encoders lost their tension less than a month after I bought but still work. I'm definitely going to wait until I see full reviews but as far as I can tell this thing is going to be a beast.

Im wondering if there will be some kind of upgrade discount. I own all the software it comes bundled with which I assume is why the markup is so high.

Another thing Id like to know is if it can run 3rd party vsts. Thats not a deal breaker since I prefer working mostly with samples but would be nice to be able to load up some of my favorite plugins.

One thing I like is that it comes with enough storage for all the existing Maschine expansions plus the additional usb slots for more storage. With a 4TB drive I would be petty much set.

I am not really feeling it, especially at this price point!?
I would like to know if it has Disk-Streaming, what USB-interface(Speed Wise) it has and on what platform it runs on(ARM On Microsoft-Embedded Or Linux-Derivative Or Even x86)?!!
Disk-Streaming is a big one, I mean, if you are forced to load it in to the RAM, especially with some Kontakt instances it going to fill up very quickly!

I like that it can work standalone, but if I understood it correctly it needs Internet to be able to work with it? That's completely stupid. Furthermore, 44.1kHz sampling only? Is that right? Also, mic preamp is probably not that great, to say the least. I'm also puzzled by 2.6A requirement for the adapter, but the ARM CPU it uses could be one of the really powerful ones. That could mean it could run a nice amount of VSTs, if it supports that, which would be really interesting.

Still, my general impression is not that great, considering the price, but also not so underwhelmed as it may seem. You could buy a 2nd hand older AKAI MPC and use that instead. I'm sure it has better MIDI timing, easier to use, better hardware quality etc. and no need for Internet connection.

I'd like to read the manual and see what it really offers. Everything you need to know is in the manual, always. :)

First, I'm really liking the standalone aspect but for this price only 2 outputs? So basically you have to work all in within the box and you're then limited to the built in FX etc.

So I like the idea but not the execution, and I'm saying this as a person who's big time into Maschine.

Well that answers the vst question.... 3rd party vst use only in controller mode :/

The more I look at the specs, the less enthusiastic I am about it. At that price I'm not sure theres enough of a difference from the MK3 to pull the trigger. If they offer some kind of upgrade or voucher for existing users, I'd consider it but as of right now Im not sure its worth the upgrade, much less the cost. With MPC One at half the price and features like a touch screen, I'd be more inclined to pull the trigger on that first.

where we are at it , anyone ever compared the pots of a MPC with Maschine ? Are they better and keep the same resistance without any parameter jumps ?

I’m predicting this will bomb. Might get decent sales the first few months & holidays, but ultimately it’s fate will be similar to the OL Neko... 4gb ram.... lol
