Very disappointing to see the majority of posts over the last few months on the sister site being all this EDM crap! Starting to think they should rename the site to EDM Central. Well it was a great site while it lasted! As the saying goes...

The sister site can only offer 1. what the developers release and 2. what is then made available to share. I've been visiting the sister site for years and it has always offered lots of "dance" related goodies as that genre is what is mainly computer related. Yeah granted there are some guitar and acoustic drum, and bass related software about but if the release groups are not releasing them then that is not the sister site's fault is it!

Id says there are more hip hop samples, and presets over there than EDM. I also cosign what belinea says. Its a sign of the times dont let your old head ways get you frustrated.

And to your "EDM crap" thing was like when my dad got mad at me for trying a vegetarian diet saying "oh you're gonna get all that vegetable crap"

 

But your dad was right about that.

There's a very good saying that I think applies here: "Beggars can't be choosers."

Just skip it if it's not for you and think about it, if EDM is all the rage and you don't do that then doesn't it make you just a bit more unique snowflake?

 

The thing is to make other kinds of music you just need a few guitars, bass and drums, and maybe a piano and/or synth or two. Throw in a few different effects and you are good to go, and we have had all of this stuff available to us for many years, so maybe the problem is on the inside at a personal level?

 

I think that our beloved sister has already give us much, much more than what we need to create good music. Please don´t feel disappointed notrace my son.

 

It's not only EDM crap.
It's mostly crap of every styles.

 

I think there's not that much more EDM than ever before, I wish there were more (good) EDM sample packs xD. But now it's mostly cheap sounding (and often very expensive if you buy it) Hip Hop or Trap sample packs. Sometimes they get on my nerves too (on the other hand I'm glad that they get shared, because their prices are often fucked up...)

But don't look a gift horse in the mouth!

And for Kontakt releases it's a really good time right now. Every week top tier stuff from Spitfire ect.

Heres a novel concept, if you don't like the stolen free stuff that's made available, quit whining and go buy what you want like you're supposed to in the first place.

 

I understand what you mean and I can also agree. Now, I believe that if you want to “Make AZ great again” you should start doing some good uploads yourself. I am sure that in your hdd you certainly have something interesting, something rare. It can be anything (k'd or free), obviously not already published on AZ.
I give you some suggestions:

• - Audio pro ebook publications
• - Mixing Tutorials
• - Music documentaries
• - Unpublished sample packs (not EDM)
• - Old school sampler factory preset (akai, emu ..)
• - Rare multitrack stems of historical bands
• - Audio apps for smartphone
• - Video tools -audio related- (resolume videoloop packs etc)
• - Broadcast streaming apps (internet radio tools etc)
• - ...

It is people with culture and a desire to progress that improve the world: prove yourself in the arena

Some of those involve de-DRMing, and video tools, audio apps for phone, etc, would require cracking.
So that would be Contributing rather than uploading.
Buying something and giving it to be cracked is possibly a better contribution.

 

You can look at it this way: all that "EDM crap" exists because, well, I'll just say it: most EDM "producers" can't actually play music. Ninety percent of them just stick a bunch of pre-recorded loops and one-finger synth progressions together in an Ableton Live file (Ableton Live being the easiest DAW for non-musicians to use), add some bass distortion and key some stuttering FX and voila! You have a Soundcloud channel full of dreams and somebody else's sick beats. Anyway, there's a proliferation of EDM, hip-hop, dance, elctronica, trap and house stuff on the sister site because real musicians don't actually need loop libraries and one-finger synth progression presets for soft synths to make music. You have to cater to the crowd that requires somebody else's shit to make their own shit.

 

I'm talking about already cracked warez but never released on az, and also free & useful audio apps
