Hi guys. Aren't there any physical modeling orchestras out there? Like Swam, but whole ensembles instead of monophonic solo-instruments. I wanna play some stuff like this:

I need a really really small size tho, definately less than 10 GB.

There are no modeled orchs out there, no. And if any ever arise, they will probably be single instruments.
Even if they existed, you still would only get close to the strings in that vid with a sample library, imo.
So 10 GB is enough for 2 of the 8Dio Agitato Grandiose Ensemble libraries, of which there are obviously Cellos, Violas, and Violins.
Those kind of glissandos, trem, and other articulations and techniques in the vid are captured in those libraries.

There was one, but it was quite old and now abandonware. It was also tricky to program.

Your remark about solo instruments is also funny - let's say it's a big orchestra with 40 strings -> can your computer run realistic physical model of something like that - I doubt it unless you have access to supercomputer.
Btw, real orchestras don't even play "in tune" (considering the design of each instrument), so getting there close to real performance with midi is quite an achievement.

It would be wonderful having a physmod ensemble, but at the moment isn't feasible.

You would have to cope with multiple sections, having each single instrument a different behaviour and flavor, divisi management, and this just for each of string sections, and not taking into account woodwinds sections etc. plus a considerable CPU throttle.
    A real nightmare.

There is a program called Divisimate that can manage multiple Swam instruments, but it's pretty difficult to manage in anyway.

    Just for curiosity, which one?

Just wondering, any specific reason you're looking for physical modeling orchestras? A good kontakt library will work?

I don't remember the name, they had Stevie Wonder quote, prizing it on their site, if that helps you at all.
It was quite an old plugin.

Another phys. model. plug is Wivi. band.

you can layer up and modulate SWAM, that's basically all you need

... and imagine how complicated programming of these monolithic ensembles would be to achieve OPs wishes.
As @tzzsmk says, it would be possible (and easier perhaps) to plug an ensemble together by using the single instruments from SWAMs.
But in a larger ensemble, one would replace the lower memory requirements with a high processor load. Whether that makes sense, one would have to try out.
In any case, it would make sense to move the SWAM plugins with Vienna Ensemble Pro to another PC then.

I haven't heard anything in them that does what the 8Dio Agitato Grandiose Ensemble libraries do, or what op posted in video.

Ahhokay that would make sense. I'd suggest Stradivari from NI then, but that's a PRETTY fat library XD!

yup, running "any" orchestra compositions using Vienna Ensemble Pro server to offload resources is what I highly recommend, it's also much faster to work with once set up

You sure? I don't see them on their website or on the demos on youtube :/ Thanks for the reply anyway. Was afraid that finding a suitable kontakt library would mean downloading some massive 50gb library. I guess in essense, I just want some unusual/expressive articulations, with the lowest possible filezie (why i suggested modeling). Here is another example:

Think the small 8dio libraries can come close to this? Listen at 1.20

    Yes, I'm "sure" lol.
Why do you think I recommended the libs I did?
Why do you think 2 other people agreed with me???
Both videos now are exactly what you find in those libs.
It's the only place I know where we can get those Mancini articulations such as I said.
There are bigger 8Dio libs that also do it, and better, but you asked for less than 10GB! The ones I mentioned are approximately 5GB each.
    But now I'm repeating myself.
    Cheers, and good luck.

Just tried both libraries, not at all what I was looking for unfortunately. It's a completely different articulation.
