A big price drop. We are talking rack only, with no plugins, but many already own many plugins.
Could this be a great way for hosting on a server with VSL PRO to save cpu resources?

If you already own a plugin like diamond color eq, can you just download the modula version for free?

I own all the AA plugins, and Modula, so when the Modula skin of a plugin comes out, it's free.. That's how it is for now and should be... But I would ask their support before to be sure. I think that the 99$ rack is how it should of been at the very start, like you said many already own the plugins.

Which native AA plugins also offer modula version of plugins that are free for those users that own the native plugins?

Can somebody ELI5 what is the advantage of Modula system? First I bought nebula which is all fiddly twiddly and then the aquas came which are easier to use in general and now this is being marketed as a big step forward, but I see nothing more than a plugin host like slate's mix rack?

    Correct me if im wrong?

I see.. it’s really just a shiny GUI placeholder with some modified skins but no guaranteed performance improvements, I read something about server mode which can be handy, but I don’t think it justifies the price. I mean if that REALLY is ALL it is. Why are people so hyped about this? How would it benefit you? Do many people at home rock 27inch touchscreens in duo’s?! Wow must be an elite thing? Sure would be nice to use but... idk :)

Btw I hope screen glare isn’t an issue with those angles for ymthose monitors, but I’ve never used those things. Any experience anyone? It doesn’t look comfortable for me with that console/screen so much higher than the keyboard and mouse, but it sure aesthetically looks sharp!!

  10. I bought it on impulse when it dropped from $999 to $99 thinking it might go back up again. I have most AA plugins and I'm a sucker for a control surface. But I like the idea of control surfaces more than I like actual control surfaces. It also assumes you want to place an AA channel strip on everything. I never do that. Even if I did, how much more convenient is it to see all of your AA plugins (or to be factual, one third of their components) at once, compared to double clicking the insert and seeing the whole thing? It's a "wow!" thing for clients, but it won't help you work better.

I got modula when it came out, it's fun and all to use but not yet flawless, more importantly the feature that interest me the most isn't yet available - afaik I haven't updated lately - which is to offload the power use of the modulas used on other devices than my main setup through the network. So far I use vep which is an okay solution, but it'll be better and more elegant once modula allows it.

Yeah It's kinda weird, but ! I've been using Modula more and more and it is really loads of fun - when it's not crashing .... I feel a big update is coming where we will finally have the client/server unlocked and stability issues fixed. I'm planning on creating a small server with the announce of the new Ryzen 4000 APU's. Big big performance for little money, as we know using lot's of heavy AA's is a pain. I do not use a touchscreen, and I'm a sucker for these kind of Gui's, I prefer them sooo much more than certain Acqua Gui's... I paid 300$ for Modula because I was afraid it would go up at 999$ for ever. Now it's 99$, for now it's Skins, but "tomorrow" it will be a client and maybe more... for now, at my home, it's just fun.

    From the newsletter today:

"We are happy to announce that Pink 4 is now available as a channel strip plug-in for Quantica Modula. Download it for free from Aquarius if you currently own both Modula Lite (or the Modula Bundle) and the regular Pink 4 Acqua plug-in. Do not own Pink 4 yet? Well, you still have a few days left to grab it at the intro price of €69* (reg. €199) and save 65%. Plus, using code PINK10 on the Quantica store you can save 10% on either Modula Lite and Modula Bundle."

So yeah here you have it, I you own Pink and the cheapest Modula Lite (only the frame, no plugins come with), you have the skin for free. Same should apply to Diamond etc.

    Thank you for the information.

  15. I've been trying to offload processing via Ethernet using Audiogridder. How does vep work? And more importantly, what is vep?
