Libraries that I have been using for years won't load after a reinstall of OSX or possibly a kontakt update to 6.2.2... I have also tried this on a totally fresh install on a different computer, the same thing happens.

I have added the library with kontakt 5.6 to use them on kontakt 6.2.2. The library appears in 5.6 until quit, but on restart, it is gone. An xml file is created in hd/library/appsupport/nativeinstruments/servicecenter with the correct SNPID.

What's really strange is a few libraries (original albion and scarbee MM bass- both no nicnt) work fine on one computer, but not the totally fresh install. I have tried copying the xml to the non-working machine, but no luck.

One more library (sonic couture pan drum) won't load on either machine.

I have tried using Kontakted to create nicnt files, but then i get this library is not installed on this machine error.

Help would be hugely appreciated because i cannot figure this out for the life of me. I have found several referenced to libraries with nicnt files being a problem but nothing more...

What about the .plist file in Library/Preferences folder?
    What macOS do you have?
It's possible that Preferences folder has the permission rights incorrectly.

There is a plist in both user and global prefs folders. Though in the proper tree they are different, not sure if that's unusual or not...
I deleted the xml and both plist files then tried re-adding the library. No luck after restarting kontakt.

I am running mac os 10.14.6

No, i have never knowingly opened native access.

What is especially weird is that these libraries worked fine not long ago.

Which is natural if the library is for anything above 5.6.0

    oh... great... ok, good luck!

no. they worked on old system. with old kontakt (I'm sure kontakt was updated few times) and old requirements in ni apps code.

why all newbies coming here, registering an account and creating their first threads with questions don't want to turn on their brains?
just open ni website, find faq and you will see this page in the list of top:
    https://support.native-instruments....5889-Setting-Up-a-Third-Party-KONTAKT-Library
    and FIRST in this instruction...
    1. Launch Native Access from the following location:
    • Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Access
    • Windows: C: > Program Files > Native Instruments > Native Access

hum... knowigly? what you know? knowledge lamers? ahahaha:rofl:
please, don't tell me that native access is spyware, or can blocked you ni account, or selling your privacy info to other developers, or any other bullshit.

another one proof for me: L.M.D.

The release I installed didn't install native access, it's not in my applications folder. Also, almost all of my libraries (including third party without nicnt files) are working just fine, there seems to be a problem with a select few. and the problem doesn't even replicate exactly from computer to computer.

You should try to copy the xml files from the computer where those work, to the other.

    Quick update:
I redownloaded the library in question (that works on one computer but not on another). I deleted it's xml, plist, and old library folder then added again in 5.6. The library still won't load on one computer (there was no xml made, and no temp on the desktop).
Now the really strange part, and possibly a key to the problem. On the computer where the library worked before, it still works, though there is no xml in service center. Yet the library is fully loaded, no demo mode.

At this point I am really quite lost. If I search the service center folder for it's SNPID there is no sign of it.

from january 2020 I'm using new mbp with catalina (was installed). and at this machine I have never saw xml files (for installed libraries) in the cervice center folder.
as I can understand official kontakt player compatible libraries now don't need that xml files. I don't use unofficial DIY nicnt files and only 2 weeks ago after I installed one library that have unofficial nicnt file by author to test it, I saw xml file in the service center folder first time.

I wonder why this library refuses to load then... (it is albion I) and yet works without xml on my other machine.

I have now removed Kontakt entirely, including all NI prefs and all xmls. Reinstalled and tried adding the library, again no luck. It appears during adding, but when restarting Kontakt it is gone.

why you don't want to listen me???

just for experiment I logged out from account and closed native access, run kontakt and ALL libraries disappeared from the list (except FREIJA).

so... I have no words anymore in this thread...

    UPD:
I logged in account again, closed native access, run kontakt and saw only FREIJA in the list.
pressed manage libraries - all other libraries in libraries tab was unchecked.

No this is a fresh install, just my old Kontakt libs from another computer (all of which are working, bar Albion I-which works on the old computer).

I tried running native access and it had no effect.

Exactly the same issue here. Catalina 10.15.6 fresh install on a brand new machine with the latest Kontakt 6.2.2. The most of all those older libraries stay loaded fine from the same external HD in my old 5.1 Mac High Sierra and Kontakt 6. I almost did everything suggested on the web with Native Access, XML swap and all the rest. I think it is a different kind of mystery.
