Hey guys! Do you have any ideas on how click tracks are set during a live gig?

Who's the click track gonna be for and what do you hope to accomplish by jamming along to a click? :)

Of course, Catalyst. I was just referring to who the feed is gonna go to. I would personally just let the drummer tackle the click and let everyone groove around him/her. It's not uncommon to send the feed to all the musicians in ear monitors though. I know most big churches go by that motto, thats why they sound so tight. :drummer:

It can't be too hard to route that out of the mixing console and into the in ear monitors, can it?

there are different ways of doing it,
create the different click tracks for the songs in any daw or use this site metronomer
an output from a computer (or Ipod\Iphone\android\ipad connected to a DI )with any daw or free software connected to the FOH mixer or to the stage monitor mixer
what kind of monitor´s you will be using? ex drummer with headphones, In-ear monitors?
what setup will you be using?

I'm thinking about having the 7.1 external sound card connected to a PC/laptop running Windows 7 (PnP) and using either a Metronome VST or a loop under Forte. Every song (serve as a scene) has individual tempo information. I can send four individual outs at the same click. I will elaborate this via a photo soon :)

My problem is on how to change scenes on the fly with a footswitch or something...

I'm also thinking about headphone amplifiers... What do you guys think about my setup? Thanks for the reply :))

    Edit:
I was thinking the drummer should have only those monitors, but I think I need to share the click to other musicians. BTW, no FOH is involved here, because in my place, guys don't have the in-ear monitors. Just headphones only :))

Is there a metronome software the can change tempos on the fly?

from computer to headphone amplifires will do, or to a small mixer
and then an [IMG] Headphone Splitter
but all having the same volume for the click

put the computer near the drummer so he will change the tempo of the songs
a simple metronome software, you can save presets for each song.
    Weird Metronome
or use different tempo loops in a daw

You could make headphone mixes with your click via your DAW. To to this though you will need an I/O bow with multiple out puts.

as said click tracks should only be done for the drummer [prehaps bass player] through an ear piece.

Playing with a click live is really taking away from the live experiance. Your drummer could practice the songs to a click perhaps. You really want a click going when your playing live? I would seriously re think this.

    @devilorcracker around $14.00,

just search the web for Belkin RockStar 5-Way 3.5-mm Headphone Splitter,
maybe it´s cheaper from were you live.
