Let me guess: you can't import your own samples but have to buy their MPC Expansions instead?

Looks like they want to make people buy more MPC's after they tried the beats software.

A comparison between Beats and v2 would be useful

it seems to be a limited version of the regular mpc software.

Loads all libraries from sister side fine

edit = it has retrospective recording

I checked it yesterday. It lets you load your own samples, it has less tracks then the paid version.
You can map notes to alot functions which makes sample editing and other stuff quite playful !
It even works as plugin however I havent figured out how to automate it with the daw automation (studio one)
The Software looks and feels at some edges quite ugly with its tiny fonts or when you click a mixer fader, it jups to teh mouse position if you do not click the exact center of the fader cap. Something like this makes it felt like a bad coded webpage

This would be today's special select "free funk for finger fire Friday" if it's indeed free. I feel like I recently downloaded their trial and it was 30 day if I'm not wrong. So far so good with today, this seemed kind of interesting last time I noodled. Hurray for retro-mode:like:

Also I just confirmed "vintage mode" for 1200, mpc3000, mpc60 are working. Personally I'm liking how these color in a cool way, maybe not so much like the real vintage machines but the effect is cool regardless.

I cross checked with Maschine's vintage modes, they seem to color differently so it's a great alternate sampler imo.

This is the free one which doesn't require ilok.

Well at least you can run the MPC software (and the Beats, too) as a vsti, having the funcionality of a live or touch in your DAW. I tried this with my mpc software 2.8 and it worked (not that I can make a single track with it, I bought the soft without controller and had no time to learn it so far - it seems to be very unintuitive for my brain) in Reaper. Shouldn't the MPC software recognise a hardware MPC ?
There is also the vmpc2000xl available for free, but still (very) unfinished.
