Can anyone with an R2R version of Studio One 4 on Windows 10 (maybe even 7) help me confirm whether it's normal for a system file to be created in this following folder every time Studio One is launched?..

    C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\(folder with S- and a bunch of numbers)

Can you confirm whether a new file is created in there right after Studio One loads up?

Exactly the same here, screenshot attached.
    Win10 Enterprise, R2R version 4.6.0.55606
I don't think this is something to be concerned about though.

I'm going to uninstall R2R StudioOne 4 and install StudioOne 5 today/tomorrow. Time to go legit for me, already purchased v5.
So then I could have a look if legit v5 behaves the same.

Thanks. I guess it's alright then. Yeah, I also wonder if legit version 4 or 5 writes those files too.

It's normal, many programs generate these files.
Good for you. Enjoy it! ;)

Installed legit version 5 now and can confirm that it does the same.

After uninstalling R2R v4 I deleted the Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-21-..... folder, since I wanted the system to be as clean as possible before installing legit.
On the very first launch of v5 the folder was created again, and there's a file added on every start of Studio One, too.

So that's nothing crack related for sure, like mentioned by Xupito/Moonlight.

I'd love to see your first impressions in a new thread or the existing ones about S1 v5 ;)

one essential tool everybody should install on windows, is the little freeware
    EVERYTHING

you can start it as a service, with tons of options,
it replaces the file search from windows,
it can perform INSTANT searches in 0.1 seconds, even if we have 8 disks, with 10+ million files, samples, etc.

it is the FIRST app i install, after formatting a disk.

we can use regular expressions to perform searches, or simply by typing what we want
it as a ton of options to search things, we can exclude folders, files, by date, by size, etc etc

    for exemple , i type
    r2r .rar
in 0.01 seconds, it displays all files that contain r2r and .rar

the app uses some kind of database to store the files. instead of live scanning all drives, to search a file, it simply reads from the db, which resides in RAM (it may take 50 to 100mb of ram), and everything is ultra fast.

why am i suggesting this app ?

    because if we type, eg.
    c:\

and we display the row "creation date", and we sort by "creation date", recent to old,

all the files that are created in the drive C will show up in the list.
why this is super useful ?
because we can watch live what is being created, in the main C drive,
and we can see what is happening, when we install an app.

if we started the installation of an app, plugin, etc, at 11h35m00 seconds, ALL the files that the installer has created, installed, etc, will be displayed in EVERTHING. if the installation took 15 seconds to finish, we know all the files between 11h35m00 and 11h35m15s will belong to that app.

this is even more useful, when the app places some weird, random files, in some weird directories, with sub-sub-sub-sub-subfolders, that would otherwise be super hard to find.

so, when you run Studio one, and have Everything "C:\" and sorted by "creation date",
you can see ALL the files that are S1 v4 has created.

yes, everything is a little gem of a freeware. i use it along FileLocator Pro 7.5 (can't find crack for 8.5, will eventually buy a cheap license)

    hope it helps :)
