in preferences - licence maintenance, uncheck "get software updates" and "send usage data".

And next time read the install instructions. I am shure it is mentioned there.

Go to your firewall settings and block Alive 9 from in- and outgoing data transfers.

Hey you can download live 9.0.5 from their website without signing up and stuff.

Now you just need to patch it and you have the newest version.
The patch is the first link you find when you google:

    https://www.google.de/search?q=Ableton+Live+9+Suite+v9.0.5+Incl+Patch+(WiN+and+OSX)&oq=Ableton+Live+9+Suite+v9.0.5+Incl+Patch+(WiN+and+OSX)&aqs=chrome.0.69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

    Maybe this will help you.

Just a note: The patch won't work on trial installers, you should download the 9.0.5 from Audioz and then run the patch.

After you've run the patch successfully, you'll need to double click that authorization file, witch is placed on your desktop ...
Live will then automatically open and will tell you you're registered.

Hope you don`t mind me also asking a question Robbie.

Why oh why does EVERY Registry Cleaner detest all that is Ableton?

Every time I run a registry cleaner it ALWAYS selects Ableton related files as being obsolete. I deselect them from cleaning but this has been going on since I first adopted Ableton in the early Live 8 days.

Anyone got any clue? I`m on PC.

That's cool, I wasn't sure whether your links were the trial installers or not. I just thought it was worth mentioning just in case.

Ez bro have you tried Ccleaner or tweak now, thats what I use and had no problems ever with Ableton. Some reg cleaners are vicious and take no prisoners

Hmmmmmmmm, seems it may be a bug then AlphaOne. :dunno:

Eezee Lukie Bro, how dey hangin? I use Yamicsoft Windows 7 Manager and Tune Up Utilities 2013 for cleaning and preppin on the PC, but I do use CCleaner on the lappie for iNet dross cleaning duties. I`ll stick CCleaner on the PC and give it a whirl.

Also gonna check the Ableton forums to see what`s what.

Sorry I couldn`t offer any help with your prob Robbie, hope one of our resident genius`s figures a fix for ya Bro.

    I use Your Uninstaller http://www.ursoftware.com/
It gets rid of most entries and you won't need a reboot. The leftovers I just get rid of using 'regedit'.

Meh Revo Uninstaller Pro is a much better software package with a way more robust feature set. My suggestion is to pick it up and if you need guidance PM me and I'll be happy to help you with anything you might need. *yes*

I've always been happy with YourUninstaller. All I need it for is to remove software and apart from some nasty installers where I need to remove some registry entries myself it does the job well. Nevertheless I will check out Revo. I'm pretty sure I can handle it. Don't know if I need it though ;)

My response was more geared towards relaying that information to Pilzy. I guess I should have just not quoted you, I guess it's confusing. It was only because I wanted to reference what you were talking about.
