    Great!

But the only announcement that I'm interested in hearing is:

"Guys, we've vastly improved CPU consumption - we are now on par with, or even surpassed Reaper's way of distributing CPU core workloads!"

IMO S1 in it's current state with Reapers CPU handling would be the most undeniable champion of modern DAWS.

I hope it's a joke, because it's a major update. They abandoned subscription model, they don't charge you for incremental updates(even when it's "almost major" x.5 updates, they are free). 4.5 was free despite the fact there were more than 70 new features. Though, part of it was just scripts, which could've been written by almost anyone without any high-level coding skills and experience if he had access to API. So, maybe it's not fair to call those scripts "features", but still, it's a very reasonable payment model. And please, don't bring FL and Reaper as a comparison, thank you.

Damn, I know it's not probable but I hope they release another update for the old version 4 before they release version 5. But whatever.

What I want from Studio One 5 is a solo band feature for the Pro EQ. Even though that's probably a really petty and small wish but that would be so cool if their stock plugin would make it obsolete to use another one!

Agreed. I've found that a lot of "WIN10 only" programs run fine on Win7Ult., so I'm harboring a modicum of hope that this is the case with S1 v5. :)

Windows 10 is the epitome of "Oh, it may have this glitch/error/annoyance, but it's an easy fix..." I need to be able to do what I need without an OS fighting me constantly and sending me online to find an "easy" solution to a problem/annoyance that shouldn't be there in the first place, especially after all these yrs. and, for the record, I'm not some ill-informed chud who dabbles with "1"s & "0"s, and yet, still, my experience with Win10 (which I have--against my will--on my non-audio/DAW PC, but test audio software on,) has been a constant struggle to get anything to run without a hitch. Hell, even the updates are scattered and skewed and need to restart several times to actual have them install--though, my favorite is when it basically tells you that "We recognize that you set your update hours to such-and-such time, but we're updating right now and destroying whatever you're doing, anyway--so suck it." Or, when the savagely inept Windows Defender finds a Trojan [see: keygen] and it starts glitching the screen and freezing everything when you try and go into the security/quarantine area to allow it. I also enjoy all of the processes that you're unable to shut down as Windows deems them necessary.
I could go on for days but, at its core, Win10 does have the major problems taken care of (even if many are in an illogical way, from a programing standpoint,) it's just the 5,098,201 little issues that make you want to commit harakiri just to be done with it.

.....*sigh* I get so frustrated with this because it comes stock on laptops (and you can't remove it,) and it revels in tormenting me on the daily. :suicide:
    Just my less-than-humble opinion... :shalom:

(on a side-note: Win8 has never been a real operating system--seriously, it was a half-assed Desktop OS that spawned from a premature touch-screen OS.)

Brother, there is a bunch of feature requests that were ignored for almost a decade. Not because PreSonus "don't listen to their customers", but probably because they decided to hold on on certain features until "better times". I'm sure some of those tops won't be implemented in version 5 as well. What it can really tell you is - "someday these features will be implemented, maybe today, maybe in 5 yrs, who knows...". Plus lots of features never appear in those feature requests at all. So, sorry our curiosity:disco:

I wish we could change the amount of nudge(Nudge value) just like pro tools!
I wish we had a clip gain editing functionality which allowed us to automate volume on CLIP GAIN just like pro tools.
I wish we had a much better time-stretch algorithm just like pro tools.
I wish we had the ability to specify MONO instrument tracks ( Not being forced to bounce to stereo then trying to mono the audio or make the annoying extra mono bus to bounce through)
I wish the audio transform functionality would automatically detect the length of the tail of the target track.
I wish we had overall audio editing and waveform display improvement.
I wish we had smarter tab to transient ( Pro tools one is much better, S1 detects no shit!)
Instead, WE ONLY SEE USELESS CONTROLLER UPDATES :(
