The MAJOR issue with the TD3 for me is you can't automate the filter and other stuff via the DAW so you have record all your modulation in realtime. My mate also bought one and has since sold it and bought the Roland TB03 instead specifically because its much easier to automate. So for messing about playing live its awesome but for me not so useful in a project - tbh I got literally the first day they shipped and I probably should have sold it at a profit when everyone was going nuts for them - doh. It does sound good though especially if you tweak the filter mod on it to make it sound a touch darker.

I use Roland Cloud TB303 for all my projects now with occasionally D16 Phoscyon and I make quite a bit of acid techno. The Roland Cloud has much better low end for the harder 303 sounds IMO and I tend to use Phosycon in other contrasting layers like a call/response type thing against the main 303 line. I also like the pattern editor in the cloud one its really easy to get great sounding 303 lines without a great deal of effort.

true that, even though i not a huge fan of synthesis in general. functionally they are a stand out, at least in my mind; though i think the model, practically speaking, also does a good job. the reissues of the hardware even sent minute flutters through my jaded heart.

    Ha! Bad example.
FLAC can be anything, including a 128kbps mp3 in disguise!
It's just a container that can losslessly be compressed to be smaller.
And it has no personal sound. Yet can have the sound of 24bit, 32bit...or 128kb mp3.

I can usually tell between 320kbps and 16bit 44.1kHz Wav, but it's getting harder the older I get!
But may have something to do with the modern-day approach to recording!? Haha.
Personally, it's actually easier to hear the missing frequencies of older, classic albums when they have been compressed below cd quality.

fuck i care about some comparisons between vsts and analog gear lol, i know the differences very well. keep preaching to the naive and hopeless who paid big money for vsts only to realize its not as good as their reference.

Absolutely, you can immediately recognise the sub 37 signature sound.

    - Denis Horvat

What effect you think he's using on the Sub 37 at 2m42s mark? Looks/sounds like Roland Space Echo.

    - Rodriguez Jr

What reverb pedal you think he's using on the Sub 37 at 1m00s mark?

    - Audiotent Sub 37 presets pack

On this pack they're using the Blue Sky Reverb & El Capistan Delay, real nice combo.

Strymon El Capistan seems to be used a lot on Sub 37 in the electronic music genre. Boss/Roland Space Echo, and Eventide Harmonizer/Space as well.

Yeah no midi cc on the TD-3 is a shame.Do you know you may send CV messages from your DAW via your audio interface?(not all audio interface can, though)
If I get one,I think I will mod it.It's cheap so it's not a big issue if I ruin it.Look at this web page if you're interested:
    https://maffez.com/?page_id=70

And my first thoughts on my new Subsequent 37 which has arrived today is those oscillators are very (too?) precise, they don't sound as huge as my Roland SE-02.But man,it's a beautiful piece of instrument, and this filter is amazing (I guess it's the most appropriate word),I really love the 1 pole and 4 poles. The feedback and the multidrive sound powerfull too.The loopable envelopes are crazy, and the LFO are very precise even at very high rates. It's worth noting that IMHO because it's not the case on all my other synths. So it's quite expensive for the features but I think I will keep it for some years from now.:)

How does the new keyboard bed feel compared to the Sub 37?

Frankly I'm a bit disappointed by the keyboard,it doesn't look premium at all.The space between the keys is not exactly the same across the entire keyboard. On the black keys you don't feel the aftertouch as you do on the white keys.It sounds plastic when you press and release a key.My Akai Advance midi keyboard looks better.I rate it 6/10.
I can't compare it to the Sub 37 because I never had the chance to play with it.

If I remember correctly I read this article long time ago.Earthquaker devices makes great pedals but that's expensive.
I'll look a bunch of pedals for the Subsequent,a chorus (the MXR stereo chorus I was talking about on your own thread about chorus) and a delay (maybe a used TC or a Strymon,I don't know at this time yet).
    Thank you bro!:mates:

  16. My Minimoog still has the best keyboard I've ever used. For a non touch responsive action anyway. I don't find the Sub37 enjoyable to play.

+10 on that. My absolute gold standard for an unweighted keyboard. Well, apart from a Hammond's waterfall keys but I only like those for organ. The Mini was springy, but fast.

  19. I was going to mention my Hammond XK-3 as being an amazing keyboard, but I was embarrassed to admit I don't own a B3. The cost of them in Australia is phenomenal. If only I could import one by storing it in the overhead locker.

Yeah old Minimoog and Voyager were high end professional synthesizers. With the Sub 37 Moog has lowered his standard. Now Moog are consumer synthesizers, like the Japanese synths.A bit better maybe.
I hesitated long time between picking a used Voyager or a new Subsequent.I prefer the sound of the Voyager. But I live in the country so I can't see the synth when buying, far from Paris. So for me it was too risky. Two times on three when I buy a used synth I encounter problems with some pots.Do you own the Voyager too? What do you think about it in comparison to the Sub 37 ?
