i look for a good oriental ethno workstation, with ready grooves, patterns , beats and good instruments

i have alot of kontakt librarys but im not really happy with it because i dont like the long loading times and can only use ut with pc and wanna play offline without pc too

and i want to have a new midi masterkeyboard was thinking a workstation can do it both, but there is not alot of selection

have seen the korg pa4x oriental loooks nice anyone have it or have some other good sugessions?
    maybe´its cheaper on black friday

I see only now this post, my answer comes a little late...
I think swar systems, they have a line of plugin instruments (swar plug), beat maker (swar groove), daw (swar studio) and library in hardware (Akais1000) and software (EXS24, Kontakt, Refill) format.
but there is a whole world dedicated in this musical area (you write "oriental" and i think "indian" music) as TaalMala, Acharyanet Carnatic Tala software, and others, but i'm not expertise in this world.
The only one I've seen on sister site is an early version of SwarPlug now at fourth release.

Two totally different places and types of instruments!
You don't have to be online to use Kontakt.
Maybe you are saying you want all this in a standalone piece of hardware?

Okay, just looked at the Korg 'Oriental' thing.
Described as having Arabic, Persian and Turkish sounds and rhythms! Wtf? haha.
Someone at Korg needs a Geography lesson.
I wonder how a keyboard like that deals with articulations? I doubt it does it at all, let alone as effectively as a Kontakt instrument.
The sounds seem really poor to me, compared to Kontakt samples.

Btw, regards MIDI, you will not be able to do with a worksation what you can do with even a basic MIDI controller keyboard.
Yes, you will be able to send and receive MIDI, but not with all the features of a controller eg. split points, 4 or more layers of MIDI channels, cc assignable pots, faders and buttons.
    The list goes on.

A bit late i know but i think what he means by oriental is keyboards that are able to play Oriental Scales that have quarter tones.
in those keys one can quickly change let's say a Bflat to Bquarter tone etc...
Roland and Korg are famous for such workstations probably yamaha has some too

Plugins/daws can deal with different scales affectively now with use of the right files.

Yes, it just changes your MIDI stream as you play. Most softsynths understand .scl files now. Scala files.
And the tuning info can be saved in a MIDI file too.

Have a read of the home page before you download. On the download page there's a link to 4800 tuning files, and I think the freeware that they provide is for managing them.
I've only downloaded some of the files to play around with.

Hey, I like the track you put up! Really nice.

you cant play quarter tones unless the plugin supports microtunning , one way you can do it is to use autotune on instrument mode (12 tones) its not perfect but its really good if you are just playing to get the feeling and you can always micro tune the notes later in the piano roll

thank you all for your input i know about those technique (but never tried it )
what i am trying to say is that in a workstation keyboard you have buttons that instantly tune certain notes as you go wich is practical because in arabic music you switch scales as you go, in an instant you be playin B flat then B Quarter flat etc ... IMG_4231.jpg
i inserted a picture that shows what i'm talking about
