When you change the DAW's sample rate and your audio files are still played at their original SR this is a logical consequence because now your files are played faster or slower and this changes the speed and pitch of the files.
You either need to look for a resampling option in your DAW or you have to do it manually. If I'm right there are also plugins which can do this.

A steep filter slope produces a phase shift, but aliasing?

Lucky you. You can sample at 500Hz. Damn, what an speed and size dramatic boost.

You may run your projects in 96K for better processing but export in 48K.Nothing wrong with that.

Each filter produces a phase shift. No matter how steep it is. The result is phase distortion. The only exception is the linear filter, because the whole block material is delayed according to the phase shift to prevent phase distortion.

But there are still waveform distortion artifacts. For example by DC, rippling and ringing. That depends on the type of filter, of course. And the steeper the filter curve, the more pronounced the artifacts.

In principle, you are right. Aliasing is usually not a by-product of a filter. It's of course possible that a badly designed filter doesn't sufficiently filter the aliasing. Or in some cases it is possible that aliasing may occur with digital filters, because of the poor programming skills of the developer. Keyword: sample glitch. But that is another story....

Err, yes, of course. I should've said the steeper the slope the shifter the phase. :deep_facepalm: [IMG]
