I've recently had a close look to laptops spec and im seriously considering switching from my PC world to the Mac world.

Mostly for its reliability but formost because of its power ( 2013 mac book pro 15,4 inch retina screen )

My only concern is to know if i can bring my old Nuendo 4.3 PC project into this new Nuendo 5 Mac world.

    Anyone as experienced it ??

Is this a big mistake i'm doing or what ??

I need your opinions guys !

    Thanks.

    yo!

dont know much about the nuendo thing but i can tell you that a college of mine bought the macbook pro retina when it came out last summer and is absolute not happy with it as a music production computer..basicly he is tryin to sell it at the moment,or considered it..

we both use pro tools and he had really bad graphic glitches/issues (fine ligth grey vertical lines where they souldnt be,and randomly) at least with pt10..dunno about 11
i dont use ableton but he does and there happend crazy things also (like the cpu hit meter on the upper right corner spiked and stayed at 1600%!! from time to time)

plus i think especially the steinberg products run better with asio instead of core..but i have no firsthand experience about it so...

buy it ,test it,decide for your self..i dont wanna badmouth apple or talk you out of buying one cause i use their machines every day

    good luck

has The-RoBoT said : you can open Nuendo4.3 projects in Nuendo5,
but there are some minor things you should know, either pc or mac

    ----
    Removed features
    -Nuendo EQ2 plug-in
-Scrub while adjusting Sync Point in the Sample
Editor and scrub while trimming an event (this feature
is planned to return in a later version)
    -----

-You will face compatibility problems between Nuendo4.3 and Nuendo5 if you have created surround projects,

-VST3 Presets location has been changed, but you can recover your VST3 presets if you move them from the old location to the new location,

-Custom key commands changed in Nuendo5, check the table

-Nuendo5 uses a new database format, so you will have to re-scan your media files.

you can also load Nuendo5 projects into Nuendo4.3, but you will face problems with panning if you used Nuendo SurroundPanner V5, also Nuendo5 uses Unicode for all text encodings(audio file names, track names) so if you use special characters they will be displayed incorrectly.

    has i said, minor things

    check this for more info

i never tried a serious and big project in nuendo\cubase on MAC,
but performance it will increase depending on the specs of the computers.

We have a stupid little infant that got banned for being a total dick and now he has nothing better to do than waste time putting up pictures of shit in the forum. A pathetic waste of life if you ask me.
