salsa has influences of all kinds, rhythms, styles of arrangement of new instruments or personal or group labels, but all that makes it difficult to explain, but all Salsero will know what salsa means to him and his maa relatives .

From the mambo, the rumba el Chachachá, to the el. Guaguanco.
From Jazz , blues to sones.
From boleros to rumbas.

Some say Cuba , Some say Puerto Rico, Some Africa.

For me its origins are in the 30s in new york and is a mix between african ,caribbean ,jazz, blues ,son cubano and some more genres like rock. In the 70s there Fania All start played a major roll when big artist from cuba (Celia Cruz), panama(Ruben Blades) and Puerto Rico got together and made big concerts in New York and Started a Revolutions.

It would not be fair to say it came from an specific country because many countries and Cities people and genres are part of it and you just simply ignore them.
