i just emailed him and asked if he would sell me a licence that lets me use the cracked versions of his software because it repairs all the sloppy development problems :hahaha:

If you did post the response. It will be interesting to read what he says.

I too support the SYG law. What wigs me out is walking through a mall with MAGA hatted dudes with holsters and loaded for bear. These are not folk trained for whipping it out using honed discretion to discern a real threat from a false one. Florida had the third ranked homicide rate after Texas (open carry) and California (muchos locos en una gran población). Open carry doesn't make me feel safe. I'd rather they leave their guns at home and just shoot an intruder that means harm as he/she crosses the threshold of the homeowner's property with evil in their heart and a darkness in their soul.

Clint's the only one that I trust with a gun (gonna use that in a lyric:yes:)

You need to learn how to quote properly then as you quite clearly quoted me as well.

How can it NOT be the issue if you purchased it or not when i'm talking about the hypocrisy of those who steal software complaining about anti piracy measures?
At the end of the day he was defending his business from us & even though i don't think he made good business decisions I have no hostility towards him personally. And if it wasn't for any of these people actually making the products in the first place we wouldn't haver anything to pirate.

Vro, I quoted you right. I quoted exactly what you wrote. What you need to do is to interpret correctly what I did write in response to what you and @hackerz4life wrote. If you want me to break it down for you, I will. There is no need for us, or anyone here, to be arguing over a piece of shit like Markus Krause. You want to defend him and his company, do so. I am not going to hold it against you. Just don't accuse me of misquoting you. Whether you have any hostility towards him or not, it is your right to feel that way. I just don't subscribe to your "he was defending his business from us." There is not justification for what he did because he knew that it would affect legit customers. Greed got the best of him at the expense of those who supported him. There were other protection schemes he could have implemented without doing what he did to us, the legit customers. Indeed, he only stopped because he got caught. I personally, am not willing to give him a free pass. As to your statement that "if it wasn't for any of these people actually making the products in the first place we wouldn't have anything to pirate," I have a different take: If it wasn't for the individuals willing to pay for a developer's product, neither a developer nor his company would even exist. Therefore, the paying customer, and not the pirates, should be a developer's first area of concern when trying to
reconcile the respect owed to current customers with the need to protect the company's products. As a business owner Markus Krause failed in that respect.

What is interesting about this distracting lie is that (far from being an inexperienced, young software company / dev) Markus Krause has been developing plugins since the 90s! He is far from the fresh-faced dev he's now pretending to be. One who accidentally and naivély infected paying customers with his malware. I'm just amazed there has been no mention of a fictional fall-guy junior or "lessons learned" or being proud coder heroes in the frontline of battling coronavirus.

@The Pirate 100%. They don't have a great track record and they're saying they're going to fix that, but that remains to be seen.

Although the ironic part to me is, another year goes by and one of their primary talking points/focus is still on software security.

You're either a Markus Krause apologist or Markus Krause himself for defending him so personally, it sounds like even your feelings were hurt lmao. Suspicious. Nice try Mark.

There's a LOT of sound devs out there. We're just saying why we choose to give to company A instead of company B. I couldn't care less if he stopped after crap hit the fan, I was never gonna use his stuff at that point and still don't plan too.
