I'm on a Mac and I'm fairly new with with this kontakt thing. I have the 6.2.2 kontakt version that came with the 5.6.0 standalone version. I downloaded some libraries non-kontakt powered ones that I wanna add into the library. So I've created the nicnt files and I successfully add the libraries I want when I fire up the 5.6.0 standalone but when I close the program the library disappears. What gives? How do I save the library once I've added it?

have you tried using v6.2.2 after you added libraries and close v5.6.0?
did you change snpid parameter in ninct for each library?
    ok...
    really? created your own nicnt?
or generated with utility? or change nicnt from other library?

We need that Indian callcenter. :bash:
There are countless threads with the same issues but people just ignore that, they want personalized Q&A.

Libraries that are not known as "Powered by Kontakt" (ie. the dev hasn't paid NI to allow it to be shown in the library tab) do not come with a .nicnt file.
These can just be opened via quickload, or drag & drop the .nki into the instrument pane.
You do not need to create a .nicnt file!

Thanks for the reply and forgive me for my incompetence, I started downloading libraries only a few days ago. Sorry even if the topic has already been covered many times, but in the midst of many posts it is not easy to find the answer.

I'm glad you 'Like' my answer! Oh, hang on...
Anyway. 'Library not found', I'll start by asking did you check that the .xml file in Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Centre says the same SNPID # as in the .nicnt file of the SF lib you mention?
    Harp was <596> and V2 was <f78>.

I'm interested that you don't just drag the .nki into the instrument pane of Kontakt, but you say you "import" it to Logic. What do you mean?

As I wrote in another post, unfortunately I can't find the xml files of my downloaded libraries, I tried to see if they were among the hidden files, I checked the path, but the only xml files that I see are only those of the legitimate libraries. I have both kontakt cracked and I have Os Sierra 12.16 in my Mac. I asked that question above before trying to drag the .nki file directly into kontakt 6. Now by dragging the .nki file I can work with the library, I was equally interested understand the dynamics behind all this.

So, in the other thread, I say this:
    ...and you answer with this:
    :deep_facepalm:
In both threads, you aren't actually answering the questions I'm asking you; asking you so I can help you.
There is no such thing as your 'legitimate libraries" or "cracked libraries". There is only cracked Kontakt.

Sorry pal, but I'm going to leave you to be helped by someone else.

@zeukin Was it the ".xml says SNPID # is <000>" thing?
