It just came out at the beginning of the month thats why. Its been excluded from every sale so far I think, even Dirk's 'birthday' sale he did a week or so ago. Thats the only one I really want. Have the two Waves channels already which are the E and G, I just need that 9000 J now..

Picked up the Focusrite one a couple weeks ago, wasn't very impressed by it, but I probably need to use it more. Got the N too but haven't had a chance to use that one at all yet.

 

hey thanks for this - i'm not sold entirely on the Focusrite. What are you seeing in terms of diff between E and G....? if you could only choose ONE of them, which one do you like better? The E or the G? thanks!

This month I was able to purchase 50 plugins from PA and that will be all I will be buying from them. Bought all their best sellers and best plugins so I don't have to be on their monthly subscription. Did a lot of research and picked on the best top 50, absolutely worth it. The Shadow Hills (both of them are very good). I'm glad I got everything I did, now I don't really need to buy anymore plugins. Got everything that there is to. They're fairly similar, I guess if anything the E seems more 'aggressive' as in its gets harsher quicker. The G is a bit more smooth but its easy as hell to crank and make things knock with it. The E is more "70s style" where the G is THE 80s SSL.. They're not very different than the PA versions either, the big difference is the PA versions are a lot newer models (Waves has NEVER updated the models in their vintage plugins since their first releases), and theres the whole TMT tech and whatnot. PA also gives you the option to switch between the two EQs in each model too. You've got the original brown knob E+the later black knob E in the E channel, and you get both versions of the G EQs in the G channel. I think both of them can switch between the G and E dynamics sections (cant do that with Waves). Probably going to use my $50 coupon along with my monthly voucher to grab the G channel just because its cheap, but I might go with the Townhouse comp instead for some extra flavor next to the Waves SSL G bus comp.
