I don't use SD3 libraries so keep that in mind and don't follow blindly my advice.
Usually you have to install the updated version at the end.
I understand you don't have SD3 installed, neither the soft or the libraries.

    So what I'd do:
    1. Install SD3 3.1.7
    2. Install SD3 libraries
    3. If something doesn't work just in case install again SD3 v3.1.7

You have to get right some folder locations. For instance, although I don't use SD3 libraries I think when you also use EZD2 the midi folder must be the EZD2 one. The installer should make this right, but just in case.

    Wowwww....What i usually did in the past was;

Right click on the installer...go to compatibility....ticked run compatibility mode to win7 and ticked run this program as administrator...then apply...

Always got error befor it ended instalation...
I just did what you suggested and everything went smooth and by the book...

    Now what ?....

i don't dare to click on the installed icon on my desktop before you guide me thru teh rest...

Do i have to "authorize" SD 3 ? If so how ?

How do i add my already installed sdx libs ?...and the exz ones ?

    What about my midi's ?

Can you help me with that ?

Again thank you soooo much for your help Pure Energy

    Best regards,

    Lemec

    no. run and use.
copy sdx content to your sdx directory, ezx content to ezx directory.
    what's wrong with your midi's?

I've heard that there is something to be done when it comes to Midi grooves... something about copying them to teh ez folder maybe or something like that ?

When you launch SD3 it will automatically scan your EZDrummer directories for EZX libraries just as it scans for your SDK libraries.

If you have your libraries in alternative locations like another drive or it didn't scan your libraries properly, just point SD3 to your sdk libraries from the settings and it will pick them up when it scans again. It's as simple as that.

If you get a warning that certain libraries need to be "updated," you'll need to wait for VR or another group to release updates for those particular libraries if they haven't released any yet. Check around for the updates, there are many released.

It seems I missed the last replies
It's a fast guess but I think I saw a SD3 Library update in AZ quite recently, like @ThrashHead said. Probably even more interesting for your issues being a library update.
Even if there're another methods why don't you give it a shot @LeMec ?

There is an unofficial update compilation for SD3 libraries and there is a more recent official one. Both are floating around audioz and this forum.

Hi TrashHead, Pure Energy and Xupito

Thank you for your kind help and guidance.

I managed to properly install SD3 and change the paths for all my SDX libs and due Midi's.

Now when i try to add the path to my already installed and working EZX libs (they are working in SD2) i get a message saying that there are no valid libs.

Also the EZX Midi libs that i have installed and working doesn't show either.

Btw...does this 3.1.7 VR CE version works as AAX in Pro Tools ?

    Any thoughts ?
