Okay guys, I really don't want to give up on this. I'm at my wits end. I've put the last 72 hours of my life into figuring this out and i still haven't got to make any noise yet. If any experts can lend a hand I'll give you all the cyber high-fives i can muster.

Note: I have downgraded my OS from MacOS Catalina 10.15.3 to Mojave 10.14.6 due to the restrictions Catalina puts on many a many plugins and softwares.

Okay, so first issue i have is i cannot destination select when installing Omnisphere 2.0. So the component and vst files are automatically placed in the correct spot as well as the Spectrasonics folder in ~Library/Application Support.
The installer also does not ask me to insert Disk B like most guides.

From what I've gathered across other threads, I'm allowed to manually copy the Steam folders extracted from the iso files into the first extracted iso file: "_Spectrasonics Omnisphere2d1.iso".

I tried to do that very thing, but it wouldn't let me, so i go to change permissions and it pops up with this error: "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission."

I did some research, and although you can Reset Home Permissions on your admin account, I've come across too many threads of people saying that didn't fix it. So i figured, well if I'm just copying all the Steam folders into this one, just to use this newly filled folder to replace the Steam folder in ~Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics , than i might as well be able to copy all my Steam folders directly into the Steam folder in said file path. So i did.

That folder is now 60,881,940,068 bytes (61.15 GB on disk) for 397 items
All good it seems.

I ran the Data Updater, ran the 2.6.2 Update. Ran the 2.6.1c Patch Library Update, ran the v2.6.1c Soundsource Library Update. Ran the Bob Moog Tribute Patch Library Update v1.4e.

I then threw the KeyGen and the Component and VST files onto a hard drive, put it on my windows computer, patched the files, ran back over to my Mac, replaced the files, loaded in Ableton.

First warning sign is that it's only Omnisphere 2. not 2.6.2 like i had hoped after the update. is this suppose to happen?

The first error i get when i load the VST is "User STEAM 7 library contains inconsistent index data. Go to Multi browser and click the refresh (reload) button"

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS i look everywhere for an explanation, other people have the problem but i can't seem to figure out what it means. either way it lets me past if i ignore it. The program loads, but no sound. at all...

I try to load a patch, or soundsource of anysort, and i get the error message: "Cannot load SoundSource "Casio VL-Tone Guitar" from Directory "Core Library". File Casio VL-Tone Guitar.zmap may be missing or corrupted. Try refreshing the SoundSource Browser"

Also, no idea what this means. I've looked up every single one of the problems i am having. Guys I'm literally about to jump out the window. Please save me. I just want to love this program, i know you guys are way smarter than me when it comes to this stuff, please don't leave me left behind. I want to know what's going on. Where did i mess up, and what do i have to do to fix it. please let me know

P.S. sorry for the lengthy post. I just wanted to be thorough and make sure everyone of my potential mistakes is noted so you guys can examine properly. I believe i put every detail i could. If you guys can't imagine what's going on feel free to ask for more detail.

@ProctorSeuss Bro if you tag me always make sure that you write the name with a space after "the", otherwise I have no way of finding out. I wish i could help you but I stopped installing W4r3z on my mac many years ago. I will tell you how to solve those problems in Windows so you get an idea.

Usually this error happens during updates. There is a problem with the Spectrasonics installers, and the previous version sometimes is not overwritten. A typical Windows problem when the user failed to install as administrator/did not have full permissions.
This is solved by uninstalling the program, leaving only the STEAM, and reinstalling as Administrator,with full permissions.

This is a bad one. Because it could be a corrupted STEAM folder. Which means that you have to either download the files showing up on the error message or download the STEAM all over again. After obtaining the files that you need do the following:
1. Reset Omnisphere. This can be done at Utility tab
2. Delete zmap index found in Steam/Omnisphere/Soundsources/Factory/Core Library.
3. Make sure you have full permissions.
3. Restart Omnisphere as Administrator.

Remember, these are instructions for Windows.
