@rosko If you don't want to record those external instruments down internally (thus leaving you an incomplete collection of multitrack), then just route everything/master/2buss to a new stereo channel and record your daw playing in realtime, which will capture your external synths playing.

 

When some DAWs have a function "bounce in real time" it's for outboard FXs.At least I believe,I don't use external FXs usually.I have some pedals and when I rarely use them as send FX,I record the tracks in real time,as I said to you in my previous comment.

On the other hand I always work with hardware synths and I always recored them in real time.

As said @No Avenger ,offline bounce works with plugins.

 

Or you may enable the recording to all the audio tracks of your synths and push record...You will record all tracks at once.

 

AS mentioned, the answer is in tun's link, it exports the master in real time & saves me bouncing down the individual hardware tracks first.

 

If you export in real time your master track as one track (the master),you can't mix your synths as individual tracks.You don't mix your individual tracks before exporting the master ?

At this point you have lost me.
All the tracks are running through the DAW mixer & are mixed here, I'm using he sound cards inputs. I'm not against bouncing the external tracks first it's just not needed for me in most cases.

BTW I am interested in how people are working with HW as i hope to start buying more of it, are people using external mixer for their hardware?.

 

How do you deal with latency when mixing without bouncing your synths in audio?
What is your DAW?
In Studio One if you enable the direct monitoring option (to avoid the latency problem) ,you can't mix your external tracks if you haven't bounced (recorded) them in audio firstly.
If I don't enable the drect monitoring option I have to set something like -20 ms of track delay on my external instruments.It's a total mess to work without the direct monitoring.
