    Hi everyone,

I have two questions related to the Audient iD4 audio interface using a MacBook Pro:

    1) Is there any quality problem with the final output when connecting the Audient iD4 (which has USB 2.0) with an adapter to a MacBookPro 2019 (which only has USB-C connections)?

    2) Is there anything better in its price range when the goal is podcasting/recording dialogs?

    Thanks.

    1) I don't know

    2) Audient interfaces are hard to beat in that price range. But the Microphone you use will make a bigger difference in sound(-quality) (dialogue/podcast) than any of the cheaper interfaces of a well-known brand. All are a steal for the price. Great times we live in.

Thanks for your comment Tob. I was thinking about the AT4053b as I don't want the microphone to appear in the video and want to reduce as much as possible external noise. What would be your opinion on that?

it is a pretty well-respected mic. Never used one. For your requirements, this would be a really good combo. You got 2 choices either the large dynamic typical radio and announcer mic or a shotgun mic. The first choice doesn't meet your requirement. The AT is for indoor dialogue probably the best choice in the price range. Shotgun mics can be really picky and annoying with the placement indoors in terms of room echos.
