    Arturia v collection has everything you could possibly need in one package just try it out, I am very impressed with its mellotron emulation

    It would probably be a lifetime project to completely emulate one of those beasts.
    Maybe an insider could do the trick? :mates:Just wishful thinking... :winker:

    Of course you can try your way around without a complete emulation. (Like I do it.)

    I discovered by chance that Camel Audio Alchemy uses the same waveforms and has a similar glide and legato behavior as the Kurzweil virtual analog synthesizer.

    Samples are easy to replace.

    The effects are not so easy to replace...

    Kurzweil was VA stuff right, was there anything special about the filters or something?..

    The effects on the VA-1 were based on the rackmount KSP-8. And what was special, the reverbs? i think modern DSP has that beat

    The Problem with Arturia V Collection is - at least for me - that it doesn't inspire me to familiarze with the functionlity of the synth models. It's pretty much just skipping through presets. I thing that's the downside of picking GUIs that mimick the hardware instead of making it functional for on-screen usage. Imagine they were designed with a usesful interface like serum where everything is layed out nicely and instead of fancy GUIs you'd have one main GUI and then some sort of dropdown for the different algorithms/models of synths and then the gui changes based on the funtionality of the selected model. But who would buy this if it didnt have wooden planks and modelled fans :D

    This one is better and free http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Redtron_SE&id=2452 32 bytes only but we have Reaper. And someone mentioned before Loomer String the best string machine emu in my opinion. Cheers.

    @Exidus Great idea for a thread. I think it would be a good idea to compile a list of of all the VSTs that have been listed, and either make it part of the original post or available as a PDF file
