For those who are in the position to be staying at home during these challenging times, we want to help make it as easy as possible for you to stay creative. So, for a one-off Sound Collective special, we’ve partnered up with AudioThing to bring you the SR-88 plug-in for free as a limited-time giveaway for all members.

AudioThing’s SR-88 is a sample-based plug-in emulation of the Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88, a rare analogue drum machine from the ’80s. The instrument features five classic analogue sounds: kick, snare, hi hat 1, hi hat 2, and cymbal, which can be pitched, panned or mixed independently. You can shape the sound with the low-pass filter (zero delay feedback), overdrive, compressor and reverb.

The sequencer lets you easily build patterns, then flip each track’s sequence using the ‘random’ function. The result is limitless combinations and unusual patterns, which bring new creative aspects to your songs. Sequences can be dragged and dropped to your DAW/host, making it easy to build ideas quickly. AudioThing SR-88 is compatible with Mac and PC, in AU, VST2, VST3 and 64-bit AAX formats.

This offer requires you to be a registered owner of a Novation/Focusrite product in order to obtain a redeem code. This will be taken care of very soon. Update: :wtf:this release has been blacklisted @Az. That was quick! :hahaha:

thanks for the info @The Pirate :like:
I got this free from focusrite's plugin collective back in 2018 (all that stuff shows up in my novation account too of course), so not a new offer for some of us, but I checked my account today and it seems audiothing just updated it to v1.5.0.

I own the hardware sr88, and this little sampled drumbox isn't bad.
It's sampled, more convenient, tweakable and much quicker to program than the real thing.
So, yeah, stay home and make more noise folks.
Of course It's not really 'free' just coz no monies change hands or you have accounts with them already, coz they be a-swapping it fer yer informations me hearties. and that's fine as long as you know it to be so.
there's still offline authorization too, which I like 'coz me daw never gets a sniff of t'interwebz.

I've got the grey one. I don't recall ever seeing a blue one in real life.
Nowadays it's very finickity about which wallwart it gets along with, but works perfectly on batteries.
Bought it second hand around 1981.

The blue ones are the first ones they made. Hard to find. But the gray ones are the better ones because you have the clock and trigger out sockets.

I already had an account for Focusrite but I'm running into a dead end. After I click download, I get taken to a page with 2 options: Register a new product, and product support. Unable to send PM to The Pirate.

Edited to add: I don't have their hardware, that may be the issue.
