I gotta say i have an easy solution in the way @famouslut has suggested. Thing is, the nick change must be a bit more radical in order to avoid unwanted future pms. So instead of The Pirate, you change it to.. 909 drumroll... The Gay Pirate.
Despite of how much free thinkers this forum's inhabitants claim to be, i reckon very few would want to pm a guy with the word Gay in his description, just in case they are mistaken for some other than straight lol. After all gay meant joyous or light hearted, long before it was used to describe a homosexual person.

That is one good idea! There is even a song I can use. One good thing about being the Gay Pirate is that there is going to be ZERO requests using the word "crack". They will be sending requests such as " Dear pirate, I am the biggest fan of the Village People. Can you send me the latest Omnisphere?" or "My brother the pirate, first I want you to know that my dad was gay and my mom a lesbian. I think i am a try-sexual. BTW, I did a similar experiment back when I changed my avatar by popular poll here. Titz (@( . ) ( . ) , who else) convinced me to post a gay avatar, and I did. But then a better suggestion came...

Titz kept calling me gaybo and similar compliments for a few days when my new current avatar was already visible for most users (cache and internet things)
Just the thought of the faces of those unaware of the situation cranks me up every time
